Millennia Convert Your HDFC Millennia Credit Card to Rupay Network by just a phone call

2025

TF Legend
Hi Friends,

Inspired by @prateekm03 and his post here https://www.technofino.in/community/profile-posts/10003/ today, I have called HDFC customer care (📞 1800 1600) and successfully raised a request for conversion of my Mastercard Millennia Credit Card to Rupay Millennia Credit Card. No questions will be asked. Take max. 5 minutes.

This is what I was informed by the phone banking executive.
1. All features and benefits will remain same.
2. LTF cards will remain LTF.
3. Request will be processed in maximum 10 days.
4. Rewards points/ cashback (accrued and upcoming) will be transferred to the new card.
5. Running balance Statement will also be transferred.
6. Card will be delivered to my address and the old card will be deactivated.

Things that I did not asked, but expecting...
1. It will work on UPI and give benefits of 5% at preferred merchants and 1% in other eligible cases. Will update later.

Why I did this?
1. India first. Reducing the fund outflow from India, particularly to arrogant US.
2. Rupay hai toh jindegi hai.
3. Easy to use UPI cards using scan and pay features. Plus 1% upto 1000 cashback monthly.
4. My TNI card only giving 0.5% outside the TNI app. So a better choice.
5. Automatically extended the validity of the card.
6. Some secret hacks. Won't disclose even in DM.
7. I have never got any limit upgrade from HDFC so hoping this change will bring something new for me.
8. Additionally, this card has milestone benefits 1k for quarterly 1L spends. So, yes 2.0% UPI achievable.

Updates:
1. Received the confirmation about raising the request immediately.
2. Card generated on next working day (11-Aug-2025) evening around 7:30 pm.
Balance transferred.
3. Add on applied on 12-Aug, generated same day.
4. Primary card received on 14-Aug. Added to upi app.

HDFC RuPay CC me UPI transaction control kaise hoga? Iska solution btao.
There’s no fraud with UPI that would require turning it off.
To register a new UPI, card details are required and there’s a ₹5,000 limit for the next 24 hours.
Even in SIM swap cases, SMS doesn’t work for 24 hours.

RuPay Credit Card UPI works only with full-KYC merchants because it’s the bank’s money — in case of fraud during a chargeback, the bank would bear the loss. This is also the reason why many merchants do not accept RuPay Credit Card UPI without full KYC.

Note – now, the people who willingly send money to scammers via UPI are special people; don’t even talk about them.
Such people face every kind of fraud day and night — through cards, net banking, IMPS, in temples, mosques, churches — some fraudster fools them with anything, and they hand over the money.

On WhatsApp, fraudster’ll say “digital arrest” and ask you to send money; you’ll click the link, enter the OTP, and send it. UPI has nothing to do with that. These people are special people — don’t talk about them.

To other Banks C*** hai jo UPI transaction ko control karne ka option de rahe hai RuPay CCs me, un banks ko X.com par tag karke unko bhi band karne bol do like HopelessDFC? 🤣🤣🌚

wow, yeah, so we can't set the limits.. Is there any chance to write to RBIO :hehe:
I planned to write but skipped.

And According to Abhishek it's not a bug, it's a feature by HopelessDFC.

Millenia Rupay Hums New
I am still confused about real benefits of this hyped thread.
Why convert to rupay? It’s about the 1% benefit and a possibly milestone hit and get upto 2% right?
If one has the likes of kiwi neon / Jupiter or even tata neu , does it makes sense to take the headache to convert?

I have 3 cc from hdfc diners/ visa / rupay. Now if I switch diners mill cc to rupay, will I be able to switch my infinia to rupay in future when the possibility comes?
Good question.

"What exactly HDFC Millenia on Rupay can offer against kiwi, tata nue ?" is your question. People wrote thesis without answering it.

:backhand-index-pointing-right: HDFC rewards edu spend, gold purchases which cards like kiwi don't.

Lets say if you are going to buy gold or pay edu fee of ~1L and you have opportunity to use QR scan . Then spending on HDFC milleinia gives you

1% (HDFC Millenia Feature) + 1% (HDFC Millenia Quarterly Milestone reach feature) + 1% (Assuming you are enrolled in rupay scan score) = ~3% which no other card gives on edu, gold.

Lets see what HDFC TNI has to offer in this case:
Single shot 1 shot payment of 1L :
HDFC TNI stops rewarding after ~33K as it hits in a month ceiling to 500 nue coins. So all your get is 500 coins + 1% (Assuming you are enrolled in rupay scan score) = ~1.5%

3 payments of ~33K:
1.5(JDFC TNI) + 1(Rupay scan score) = 2.5%

That's why HDFC Millenia on Rupay can be that one card to rule 'em all.

No there's no such rule for new cc. But for upgrades yes.
U cant apply another core card, only 3rd party card possible
I know that one can only hold 1 hdfc core card and multiple co-branded cards but i have seen people with 2 core cards. 1 of my known has hdfc millennia and regalia gold (no none of them are addon) + swiggy and tni.
I have millennia + upi, swiggy and tnp. I'm thinking of applying for regalia gold via offline route from the same guy who gave my frnd his 2nd core card.

Thanks for the detailed answer. Seems so much attractive.

Somehow as I told I have infinia which I use for the edu and gold spends, redeeem for 3.3%. And I do not have 1L single txn spend yet on these (ain’t that rich).

For normal upi txns if I count in the 1(Rupay scan score), I am earning 6% on my kiwi cc(definitely not on edu or gold). Even if I take millennia rupay I would probably not use it as kiwi seems to be better rewarding on everyday offline txns.

Again this is not about competition, I am just trying to find use cases. Like you pointed edu and gold via scan and pay. It’s always nice to have other options.

Coming back to my question which I would love to know, if I convert my millennia to rupay, will I be able to convert my infinia to rupay as well when the options come in future. HDFC will allot same network cards right? This thought is the only thing which is stopping me to convert, even if I do not use the millennia on rupay network, it might some day come handy.

You can ignore Millenia

You can ignore hdfc Millenia as your spends will be on infinia and upi on Kiwi. No need to migrate Millenia to rupay

Remember that hdfc have a bug
In sales rupay hdfc cards sometimes offers less discount and other network more ( based on offer some doesn't apply to hdfc rupay 🌚)

There was a thread about this too ig.
Are you sure?
This will be a huge problem if HDFC card on rupay network doesn't work on bbd sale.
I have to convert Millennia to Visa/Master again then.
