HDFC Millennia DC: Smartbuy 5% + 5% (Extra 2.5% for online halted)

Edit: The extra 2.5% on Sbuy not coming these days as confirmed by many. SO now it is 5% + 5% but Millennia CC still has 5%+1%..

This post is regarding earning 12.5% on Smartbuy using HDFC Millenia. There is nothing new in this but many of us are missing higher CB on low spend.

We all know that Millennia DC has max. cap of Rs.400 as 5% cashback so we mostly use it for 16000 CC Payment or some use it for wallet load of 40K.

The thing I analyzed today was, my friend in Dec- 2023 used his Millennia DC on smartbuy for Rs.5000 for flipkart voucher only and nowhere else. When I checked his rewards, it were 5% smartbuy cashback offer (upto Rs.1000/month) for HDFC cards i.e Rs.250 were credited in April 2024, 5% Millennia DC specific for txn on Smartbuy/Payzapp i.e as per TnC and also 2.5% as online usage. Total 375 was credited to him. Max. is 400.

With Millennia CC it was confirmed since years that smartbuy txns were giving 5% cashback + 1% online spend so total 6% but same is with Millennia DC also.

So next time when you buy A gift card from smartbuy worth Rs. 5340 will fetch you- Rs.267+133.50 = Rs. 400 (50 paisa 😆 will not be given as 400 is max limit). The smartbuy cashback of 5340*5/100= 267 will be extra and come under 1000 cashback category.

Main point missed was the 5% debit card specific cashback and 2.5% online and 1% offline/wallet load, all have a cumulative limit of max. 400. So most of us missed this thing as were spending more than 8000-16000 every month.

Just checked. As it is not working so posted here. It usually happens. Yes in morning I redeemed in one account. But that time other account 400 was not there. 🤣 Har month ka rona hai system ka bhai. Kaafi time se use to hai hum sab HDFC ke system ke jo bahot kaam sahi se kaam kartey hai.

Mera saare redeem ho gaya.

June se cashback 3-4 working days mai aarha hai, so June, July, August ek dum smooth ho gaya and baki pending cashback bhi released ho gaya hai.

Ab bus May ka fully release baaki hai, kuch release ho gaya hai and kuch baaki hai. Agar August se pehle may ka cashback release kardiya then February to August, every month is clear for CB.

Phir next month dekha jayega. Hope you got the point.

Did you had any Rs.1260 txn on smartbuy? Somehow (I guess) promo points are posted under millennia specific cashback.

Haan bhai 3-4 baar extend huyi date fir maine follow up hi bandd kar diya. Bas yeh hai ki negative pts ka pata lag gaya hai kaise aaye hai.

Jis account mein -0.10 hai usme maine apna card add kiya tha family member ke account mein. Rs.2 deduction huyi card se verification ki and same reverse ho gaye. Jab bhi Rs.2 dedudction se card verify hota hai woh 5% waley Payzapp category mein aata hai mcc code ki wajah se. Toh Rs.2*%= Rs.0.10. Yeh txn reverse huyi toh same inhone minus mein daal diya.

But a point that bugged me more was Millennia RP system don't activate for txn below Rs.400 then how come system considered that txn? But this got verified now as I had Rs.10 payzapp txn failure for mobile recharge in account which has 0.50 negative. Same 5% logic there as 10*5%= 0.50 and same was put to negative by HDFC. Although from that account later I did Rs.41000 wallet load so that would have given but as max. is 400 so system calculated 0.50 which was put to negative and 400 later added which made it 399.50.

So these failed txns have no Rs.400 min. criteria when txn is on Payzapp and that is confirmed in two cases now. If somehow wallet load txns fails like 20000, they will put -200 in rewards.
