Kotak Bank Froze My Account Without Notice & Forcing Me to Close It – Need Advice!

Did you guys submitted your aadhar and your personal details to submit request for removal of freeze from your account. If yes, then you should contact customer support and they probably suggest to do a address verification. If no, then visit your nearest branch request them remove your account from freeze. Next they'll arrange an agent for address verification. In case like mine i no longer live at my communication address. Then i request for address verification letter. I don't know what they call this letter. After receiving that letter then visit your nearest branch and submit that letter. In my case they were forcing me to close my account. But i said no, i want to use this account if you require any documents, I'm ready to provide you. Then he asked me for 6 month statement where I did the transaction. I sent him a pdf. Then, he submitted my request saying ki your account will not be removed from freeze. Then after a week boom, I recieved a mail and message that my account is no longer on freeze. It took me a month but finally they removed freeze. I hope this helps.

So I figured I’d share my little credit card saga, mostly as a rant but also to hear from others who've been in the same boat.

My first-ever credit card was the Kotak Urbane, with a limit of ₹25K. As a first-timer, I was just excited to get approved and accepted whatever came my way. No complaints initially, it did the job.
Fast forward four years, and absolutely nothing has changed. Same limit. No proactive upgrades. Not a single meaningful offer from Kotak. Just inertia.
I’ve sent multiple emails over time asking for a card upgrade — especially to the Zen LTF, since I’ve seen a bunch of people here and on other forums say they've received it as a lifetime free variant.
Today, I finally got a call from the Nodal Officer, and what I heard caught me completely off-guard. I was straight-up told, “Kotak doesn’t offer LTF cards. That doesn’t exist.”

Now, I know for a fact that’s not true. There are folks here who’ve posted about their Kotak LTF cards. It just blew my mind that someone in that role would lie to me like that.
To be honest, I’d just close the card and move on, but this is my oldest credit card and closing it could hit my credit score. So I’m kind of stuck.

Has anyone faced something similar with Kotak?
Were you ever able to get a credit limit increase or upgrade after years of nothing?

Did you manage to get the Zen as LTF? If so, how?

Anyone else face strange or just blatantly false responses from customer support?

Appreciate any suggestions or stories. Just tired of being treated like my loyalty and usage) over the years means nothing.

Have you tried sending some income documents, that you have, like salary slip or form 16 or ITR or bank statement like anything

'Kotak does't offered LTF', 😆. I got three KOTAK credit cards LTF. Tell Nodal Officer to call me. 😄

Generally speaking no nodal officer or principal nodal officer call any customer for any type of support. They have team of executives just like customer care guys, and some of them are knowledgeable but most of them just don't know what they do.

Can't say specifically on your case though

Still have pre-approved LTF cc . But i am not interested in kotak, so didn't ever saw which card is it
 
Successfully transferred my balance to other account after lifting the freez before closure.
