Regalia to Infinia upgrade

TF Premier
I have a Regalia LTF card that I want to upgrade to Infinia. The credit limit on the Regalia card is around 15 lakhs. Since I already fulfill the credit limit criterion, I plan to spend 10+ lakhs in 6 months.

My questions:
  • Are school fees and jewellery spends considered for the 10+ lakhs criterion?
  • Will I get base rewards for school fees and jewellery spends?

I heard dcbm k baad infinia hona mushkil hai
Not really. See if yoh are eligible to DCBM based on salary criteria (2.5L take home)

Or check your last 6 months transaction on Regalia Gold. If in case you meet spends critiria for DCBM, go for it now as spending 9L on DCBM is a lot more rewarding than RG.

Then you can upgrade to Infinia

Hi @Sobirvs @Aniket Sharma - One of my friends already hold HDFC Swiggy and applied to DCBM based on salary criteria for which he was eligible. But got rejected stating existing HDFC CC holder. He had requested for Swiggy card closure and request accepted.

Any idea if cool off period to apply DCBM is 3M or 6M?

Mushkil hona hoga to kahi se bhi upgrade karo mushkil hi hoga.
Spend criteria is not an official criteria to get infinia, people have had to fight even after achieving it. You have to present your case properly and convincingly that Hdfc should just give Infinia to you.
Still give it a try no matter what. And do it from RG as everybody is suggesting.

What do you think about the new Infinia MAB criteria that's making rounds on Twitter? Does it mean that an HDFC card holder without an HDFC account can't get an Infinia, unless the salary is 5L/month?

I have started making spends to reach the 10L criteria but really confused after seeing the new criteria. Not sure if you should continue making the spends. Have already spent close to 2.5L.

I too had to struggle only for dcbm till 3 months then in march end, they agree to give dcbm from regalia, don’t know what they will for infinia now

Salary and spends+CL criteria has been there for long and even now they have just changed the limits for both, but both the criterias are still there and working also as per the latest updates.
If you have such high spends lined up then just compare it against which other card would you use for those spends and sum up the losses if any. 5-6kRs loss is nothing if you're trying to target Infinia. I made more losses than this and recovered 8x of that loss in one year itself.
If you don't have salary account in HDFC and they reject infinia then tell HDFC that you would transfer your salary account to HDFC if they would approve infinia for that.

Could you please elaborate more on losses and gain !

Have a salary account with them for close to three years now. Per my calculations, I might be losing around 8-10k, which I'm fine with. Do you think I should spend the remaining money and hit the 9 lakhs milestone and give it a shot? Just worried about the Imperia status and AMB, which I don't have.

I have Atlas. Some of my spends on Regalia to reach 9L would be on gold. So, I don't stand to lose anything at least on the gold transaction by not using Atlas. Regalia gives RPs for gold transactions, Atlas doesn't. I will be at a loss for other transactions where I can earn a much better reward rate using Atlas.

Loosing money how?

Reward rate bro..
Booking flights and hotels using Regalia instead of Atlas for instance..just to reach 9L. Atlas is a much better card even for offline spends when compared to Regalia
Oh got it. Is Atlas better compared to Infinia? Nowadays I feel I am giving a lot on processing fee just accure the points.
