SBI CREDIT CARD LTF SCAM

I had applied for SBI SIMPLYCLICK CARD since i was told that this card is lifetime free by sbi official
Here are the details of them contact number and names as per truecaller
085889 10170 - Khanysi
085120 98737 - Rahul Aggarwal
089296 87602 - Manoj Kumar

These people had communicated that the card will be lifetime free upon activation. Now after contacting customer care I was told that it's chargeable.
I will have escalated it to consumer court.
These people are not receiving calls anymore and have blocked me.
Also I saw posts on getting LTF if we close the card
So I have applied for card closure
Can someone tell if I close the card still do I need to pay 499+GST?

SBI Cards 101: SBI Cards never offers any card as LTF through normal channels.

What proof do you have to prove that they actually were SBI officials?

If you haven't activated the card, then you won't be charged. Either you can contact the customer care for the closure or not do anything to let the card closed after 37 days due to non activation.

I contacted sbi they said even if you dont activate you will need to pay the annual fees of 499+GST

Get this over an email from them.

I hope you haven't done anything with the card like setting PIN, accpeting terms n conditions in the app for the card, activating or deactivating online/offline/domestic/international transactions, etc.

What is the limit you got?

First I would suggest that's a basic card and you can get the fee waiver on renewal, so you can use it.

I am getting waiver of fees from last 3 years.
Last year they also waived my cashback card fees.
Now got aurum on 3rd fyf and will see if they agree for waiving fees next year

Before pointing fingers at others, I wish that you understand that all these are un-officials numbers and relying them is the biggest mistake!

Please celebrate that you didnt got scammed with real money where you would have given them some OTP since "as per TrueCaller" they are from SBI !!!

500 rs was the fee so I took the risk actually 😅
