Why Doesn’t SBI YONO Allow Joint Account Access for Second Holders?
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a query that’s been on my mind, and perhaps others have faced something similar.
My wife and I have joint accounts in both HDFC and SBI. With HDFC, the experience is seamless—both of us can access our joint account via the mobile app and desktop web login, using our individual credentials. It works perfectly for viewing transactions, transferring funds, and managing the account.
However, when it comes to SBI, things are quite different. The YONO app does not provide access to the second holder of the joint account. Only the primary holder can log in and use the digital services, which seems quite limiting—especially considering how common joint accounts are among couples and families.
Is there a reason for this restriction? Has anyone found a workaround or solution? Is SBI planning to update this in the near future?
Would love to hear your thoughts or experiences.
