7 credit card payment delayed

Hello!
I have been using SBI reliance prime credit card since last 2 years and in that time span i have 7 delayed card payments which were reported to Cibil.
Few days back my credit limit was reduced from 56k to 40k and earlier i tried for limit enhancement but everytime it was declined. As per my knowledge when payment history is not good (mine worse) with credit card company they neither upgrade card nor enhance the limit.
So I'm thinking to close this credit card and apply for a new one with some other bank.
Suggest something.

Closing the card will not undo the harm done to your profile. What's your credit score?

Credit score is 788 and i have only one credit card

You will be straight rejected if you apply for any other card.
Your delays are sporadic meaning you are not consistent in managing your debts.
Keep paying the card on time.
Banks will also decrease limits if you have a bad track record.
Either ways if you even get a new card the limit will be rather poor.

Now use your card without any delay in payments for atleast 3 years from your last delayed payment month, then you will be able to get new card.

There are few more I can't recall it right now.
