Wahi, wallet, SA, NCMC, fastag, market share etc. ko apne pair pe baar baar kuladhi maarke khatam kar hi diya...

Utna hi nahi, Paytm ne Tap to Pay hata diya, custom UPI ID bhi even though @paytm handle Yes bank ko transfer kar diya (haal filaal purana ID restore kiya hai but again not enough customisation)... 🤡

Jhanjhat kya? Jo product already placed hai and famous hai usko discounted karke customer se hi haat dhona padega...

Jo customer wallet hi use kar raha tha khudse upgrade nahi huwa SA (kyu ki firh wallet se haat dhona padega) uska chance kam hi hai ki wallet permanently discontinued karne pe SA firh shift kar jaye. So, ultimately customer base hi kam hoga na bro.

Naya products laya toh uska jor jor se promotion chal hi raha hai aur usko hi karta, mujhse senseless laga ek product ho highlight karne ke liye dusre ko maar dalna...

Customers utna dhyan nahi dete , wallet chalra to chalra aur waise bhi SA me koi charges to hai nahi ulta sabhi banks se jyada interest de rahe hai ( temporary hai but derahe hai ) .
Agar ek hi product pe atke rahe fir to hogya.
Isliye wo sabko upgrade karwana chahrahe hai taki new products launch kar sake .

Unke target customers hai kon below 30 majority .. hum aap insab pe dhyan dete honge lekin maximum log bas use karre hai unhe koi fark nahi padta SA hai ya wallet but slice ko fark padta hai .

I don't understand what's the need to discontinue wallet even after being a bank.
SA and Wallet can be continued side by side.

Still 3rd largest, yes not close to Phonepe/G-Pay in terms of customer base. However, I have observed Paytm has largest merchants base compared to others.

Anyway, Paytm dug its own grave. 🤡

Most Fintech launches wallet since they don't have permission to launch savings/current accounts unless they partnered with a bank which takes time.

Bank launches wallet since it is easy for them to use the cash and don't have to pay any interest.

To launch or operate pre-paid/ wallet/UPI facility, partnership is required unless it's a bank in itself, earlier Slice had partnered with Axis for the same.

Slice is not a Fintech anymore. It's also a bank (Slice SFB), I don't find it reasonable to discontinue well established product.

Yes. As a NBFC they have to deposit the cash to an account but not in individual account. So wallet is less governed by any authority. Since they are not a bank they are not getting huge cash to use it for profit. The only way they make money by transaction fees, brand partnership and giving personal loan.

They can continue the wallet and takeover the market share of Paytm. They also have a workable app. Paytm was a game changer. Paytm was the first to launch QR payment (not UPI, wallet to wallet), first to launch NCMC card, first no hassle fastag. Now only Paytm flights are usable.

It's become a bank (scheduled bank) with slice Small Finance Bank Ltd, name. NESFB and Slice merged & few weeks ago, rebranded as above (slice SFB), before rebranding it's acted a brand of NESFB. IG, you knew it, right?

P.S: PPI is also governed by RBI and also NPCI for Wallet UPI. Paytm ka kya share lega ab itne time baad, jab ye apne man se band hi kar raha hai...
