I got a canara bank rupay select credit card. The person at the branch said it is LTF. I didn't get any documentation on charges so i can't confirm.
However, the benefits aren't a lot. After logging into the portal, i can only see 2 benefits - health health check up and spa benefits. Is it the case for everyone else?

And also canara cards are marked as LTF. But they have inactivity fee's for a particular spends criteria. I mean for example inactivity fee's of rs 300 if annual spend is less than 2lakh. So technically it's not LTF. Just same as all other bank paid cards. And just the annual fees in another name.

Spend is less thank 1 lakh

Is it beneficial to open a regular savings account in Canara Bank or get a RuPay Select debit card, and then apply for a credit card as well? I mostly hold credit cards from other banks, so I’m hoping they might offer me one too

Rupay select DC is paid. Annual fee ₹1180 I think. Credit card recommendation can be given by manager . So if you are in good terms with manager, there is a greater chance

Recently I'm seeing lot of offers in different ecommerce platforms on CANARA bank credit cards. Do they have any zero balance basic account? I'm also thinking to open an a/c to get their credit card.

That's really weird and a way to confuse the customers. So, even if I spend 1.99 lakhs, my card would still be considered as inactive.

I think the pure sense of inactivity fee is introduced by PNB. Their rupay select card only demands a single transaction in every quarter, whatever may be the amount, to avoid inactivity fee.

But the cards of pnb needs a single transaction per quarter, that is really called inactivity if anyone can't do a single transaction in a Q. But canara has a different level on that...
I don't think canara people understand what inactivity is?
😆😆😆
