Value Back Comparison
We are giving you a value-back comparison that if we spend ₹42,000 Per Month (₹5,04,000/Year) so that we are free from the annual fees of both cards.
Redemption Calculations for HDFC Regalia Credit Card
Category | HDFC Regalia Credit Card |
SmartBuy spending –(Flight- 10K, GV – 10K, Amazon/Flipkart – 10K) | ₹1500 Cashback/month X 12 = ₹18,000 per year & 800 Regular points/month X 12 = 9,600 Points per year |
All other spending – ₹12000/month (Bills, Normal Online/Offline) | 320 Points/month X 12 = 3840 Points |
Now if we spend ₹42,000 per month that means ₹504000/Year, Then, We will be eligible for 10,000 Bonus Points (10K points for spending 5L in a year).
So total points we’ll earn in a year –
9,600 + 3,840 Normal Points + 10,000 Bonus Points = 23,440 Reward Points.
So if we redeem for cash, Then we’ll get ₹4,688 value from 23,440 Points.
Total Value Back: (18,000+4,688) = ₹22,688 ;
Reward Rate: 4.50%
And If we redeem for travel, Then we’ll get ₹11,720 value from 23440 points.
Total value back: (18,000+11,720) = ₹29,720
Reward Rate: 5.90%
Redemption Calculations for HDFC Millennia Credit Card
Category | HDFC Millennia Credit Card |
SmartBuy spending –(Flight- 10K, GV – 10K) | ₹1000 Cashback (Smartbuy CB)/month X 12 = ₹12,000 per year & ₹200 CashPoints (Regular 1% Category)/month X 12 = 2400 CashPoints Total – ₹12000 CashBack and 2400 CashPoints per year |
Amazon/Flipkart (Direct 5% Category) – 10K/month | ₹500 CashPoints/month X 12 = 6000 CashPoints per year. |
All other spending – ₹12000/month (Bills, Normal Online/Offline) | ₹120 CashPoints/month X 12 = 1440 CashPoints per year. |
Now if we spend ₹42,000/Month that means ₹1,26,000/Quarter. Then, we will be eligible for a ₹1,000 gift voucher every quarter (Quarterly Milestone Benefits).
So total value back we’ll earn in a year –
So if we redeem for cash then Quarterly Bonus – {(₹1000 X 4) = ₹4000} + Regular Cashback {(14,400 + 6,000 + 1,440) = ₹21,840}
Total Value Back – 25,840
Reward Rate – 5.13%
And if we redeem for flight then Quarterly Bonus – {(₹1000 X 4) = ₹4000} + SmartBuy Cashback
{(₹1000 X 12) = ₹12000} + Travel Redemption Value {(2,400 + 6,000 + 1,440) x ₹0.30p = ₹2952}
Total Value Back – ₹18952
Reward Rate – 3.76%
HDFC Regalia clearly gives the most value when redemption is done for flights and hotel bookings and not for cashback whereas the opposite is true in the case of HDFC Millennia. This one reason can be a deciding factor for your choice among the two cards.

Category | HDFC Regalia Credit Card | HDFC Millennia Credit Card |

Thanks for the reply. I’ll try this procedure
i have millenia cc. and also sbi vistara prime + priority pass. i do international travel so need international lounges. should i upgrade to regalia or hold on to the same ? as regalia has low markup and more int lounge than sbi card prime. kindly help me to make a decision.
You have to take that decision. But Regalia would prove to be a better card for the purpose you are mentioning.
How to get the priority pass, I didn’t get it along while I received regalia credit card
I have a Regalia card life time free for last 6-7 years with limit of 7.5 lakh. If I apply to upgrade it to Infinia, can I do it. Will it be also life time free? If not is it worth taking by paying Rs 12500+GST
