Youtube is a treasure trove of Music especially 80's, 90's English and Hindi hits, music videos adds to the nostalgic value, also the YouTube algorithm is the best for music suggestions.
I have a spotify premium as well but its algorithm sucks as sometime while listening to 80's rock it adds hip hop songs which kills the mood.
Sound quality wise spotify is good and bit louder but if you have decent equipment than you can bear with youtube.
Ps.. I have tried Tidal and Qobuz as well in the past they are much much better sq wise as compared to Spotify but paying for them is a pain as not officially available in India.

In my youth we had CDs, MP3 and MP3 CDs. I still carry my own collection of songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s. No need to depend on any streaming services or data providers.

Why is it risky to join youtube families of unknown people? Because if you want to exit the family, only the family owner can kick you out.
So you cannot join another family until unless you leave the unknown person's existing family group.

I have created my personal family group and added everyone at home. That's much better, all of us at home, parents, sibilings, wife etc can enjoy ad-free youtube videos. (In short, managing google families our own is better than sharing with unknowns)

A person can leave the family group themself at anytime they choose. Doesnt have to wait for the family manager.

But you cannot join another family group in the next 12 months.

Best is to create a new google id / email and use that for your youtube needs.

In India you can use 1 phone number to verify for 5 google IDs.

Or you can simply create them using the gmail app itself. It won't ask you for a phone number.
