Where to store your Mutual Funds and SIP's?

There are many apps like groww, coin, kuvera, et money, paytm money.

And we can just buy in broker apps too like zerodha, shoonya? (Nsdl, cdsl)

Then there is CAMS / KARVY .

Also what if I just buy directly on the fund's site?

And what is this statement of account?

How does the options compare?

And we can buy funds with banks and agents?

And to appoint nominee of course

If few AMC, than directly..
If more than RTA
If simple one MFU
If Demat route - Broker

RTA?

MFU? .
Registrar and Transfer Agent - CAMS, KfinTech
MFU - MF Utility

MFU stands for Mutual Fund Utility, a platform that facilitates mutual fund transactions by consolidating investor holdings and enabling online transactions across multiple fund houses. It's a shared service initiative by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI).
In mutual funds, RTA stands for Registrar and Transfer Agent. RTAs are specialized financial institutions that manage and maintain records of investor transactions, ensuring smooth processes and record-keeping for mutual fund companies and investors. They act as intermediaries between the mutual fund company and the investor, handling tasks like application processing, unit allocation, and statement generation.

You can hold mf unit in either demat form or statement of account (soa). Google this and decide your preference.

Apps like groww, et money use soa whereas zerodha coin uses demat.

If hold in soa form, you can buy from anywhere amc website etc.

Cams and karvy are RTA (well explained above).

I have my mf in soa form and use mfcentral (courtesy of rtas cams and karvy) for investment. However if you want to track XIRR n all, use some of the apps. I do it manually

Do not buy with bank as they have regular plans, same would be with agent mostly.
