1. Login Internet banking and raise request, post that validate same thru any sbi atm

I am asking for sbi credit card, just to be absolutely sure about the method, sbi can freeze account marking change as suspicious,wasn't able to access my sbi cashback card in sbi app for 2 months, a long battle followed, numerous calls/ emails/ twitter support lead finally to resolution. That's why if anyone has successfully changed their mobile number by a particular method, just wanted to know their experience. With sbi things can be very toxic, I have experienced it already once.

But method is same for sbi card also.

In your case, get it done thru sbi cx.

He is correct, SBI does freeze/block accounts "sometimes" if the mobile number is changed. May be like 1% of the times but it does happen. No one can tell the safest way tbh, it is all about what SBI thinks and their internal policies, OP just try ur luck if you want, 99% chances there won't be an issue unless exceptional cases.

Account or credit card?

I agree for credit card but never heard/seen account getting freezed for this reason. Most of the times it's infamous KYC.

I myself have updated atleast 10-15 time (ofc in multiple accounts) through INB

I tried updating number through sbi app today, service request number got generated, sbi called for 2 second, I picked up the phone, they disconnected, got an instantaneous message we tried contacting you, etc, I picked up their phone, what can i do if they disconnect the call from their end, do they call again? Kindly help and share your experience.

Yes, I updated through app itself, got call from ivr to confirm, so my number got successfully updated, I was very scared with sbi, but was able to do so successfully. Still not able to update mobile number with indusind, as there is no way to connect with customer care via call, tried indusind video banking option, branch visit, all has been futile so far. Indusind is the worst in customer support.

Happened the same with me, unblocking process was easy, just had to make a phone call, got a call on both old and new number to confirm the change

Something interesting happened

I was using my sbi prime card with upi on number a
Changed number from a to b
Registered for rupay cc upi on phone number b, changed upi pin from x to y

Now
Upi works on same card on number b with pin y
And also working on number a with pin x
