I have a question. I got this VIP membership, can i still get free breakfast and upgrade if i book through a OTA or i need to book it through radisson website only?

Loyalty benefits are available on direct bookings only.

The whole point of loyalty programme to make more and more people book directly, so the hotels save on commissions which they have to share with OTA

2. verify that discount booster is activated in profile settings.
3. do not pay extra for breakfast packages (VIP - breakfast free for 2 adults)
4. 2 days before check-in, send an email from your registered email to hotel direct contact and reservation team requesting an upgrade to highest room category and other benefits applicable for VIP member (include membership no and booking/invoice no).

I have just checked the app with Discount Booster on this time. There are 2 Radisson properties in Hyd and only one has reduced price with Discount Booster ON. Unfortunately this is not the one I want to book.

Edit: I can see the reduced price for other hotel too in Website.

Let me share my experience, I had a stay in Radisson blu in Banjarahills Hyderabad location. I have booked through the smart buy with the help of redeeming reward points. After placed the stay order, I have connected with Radissyteam via twitter and asked them about privilege (breakfast) they sent a email to the property(Banjarahills) and I got the free breakfast.
Conclusion:
According to my experience yes you can.

I want to book 2 rooms for 4 people. Usually these loyalty memberships pnly work when the booking is made in the name of the account holder and that person too needs to travel.

Any idea how to overcome this so that my loyalty memberships dont go waste unused when someone in friend or. family wants to avail it without me having to travel with them.

May be, but I got vip benfits like room upgrade and breakfast. My intention if it is booked through OTA still fine, you can raise a request and get the benfits out of it.and specially Banjara hills property really good, breakfyalso really good you will get the good hospitality.
