Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that tariffs bring in money from countries like China, but that’s a fundamental misunderstanding—or a deliberate lie. Tariffs are taxes paid by American importers, not foreign governments. The money “flowing in” actually comes out of the pockets of U.S. businesses and consumers, not China or any other country.

Framing this self-imposed economic burden as a win is like taxing your own people and calling it a victory over foreign nations. For someone who touts himself as a business genius, failing to grasp this basic economic principle raises serious questions—either he doesn’t understand how tariffs work, or he does and is intentionally misleading the public. Neither possibility is comforting.

Tariff is such a thing where one party gain at the cost of other party (parties). That usually against the moto of "the world is one". WTO here is 💺 🦆. This also promotes inefficiency to some extent. Inflation, GDP both directly proportional to tariff. Just like the way high income is proportional to higher income tax.

In past many thought US-China tussle to benifit India without even realising what if same happened with India. Now here we are.

High level committee are still attending meeting. Oh sorry! They are confused because they are not getting clear signal from their boss. Oh sorry again! Boss himself is confused.

So, the high powered committee is confused because their boss is confused. So the news channels also confused, so as the 140 crore Deswasi.

Now let's get out of this confusion. Tit for tat is the best medicine for such bimari.

Totally AGREED. I heard that Putin is going to visit India soon and even Modi is going to visit China for SCO summit after 6 years. Let's see how it plays out

Mai kisi ki dalali nhi kar rha dost maine to wohi kha jo sach hai. Parody accounts spamming threads is not at all healthy.

You are right but partially... If tariffs are borne by US themselves then why all countries and economy is worried about?

Reason is simple they are not worried about tariffs it's about secondary implications of tarriff... If a product is produced by India, china and vietnam priced at 10$ before now everyone thinks because of tarriff it becomes 12$... But NO not all products do it some need to have competitive prices for sales else they go out of market... in this case importer who is going to pay the tarriff will ask Indian manufacturer to discount the price to combat the tarrif..

You are right but partially... If tariffs are borne by US themselves then why all countries and economy is worried about?

Reason is simple they are not worried about tariffs it's about secondary implications of tarriff... If a product is produced by India, china and vietnam priced at 10$ before now everyone thinks because of tarriff it becomes 12$... But NO not all products do it some need to have competitive prices for sales else they go out of market... in this case importer who is going to pay the tarriff will ask Indian manufacturer to discount the price to combat the tarrif..

India is buying Russian oil at average 40% below International price...If this benefit is passed to common men then the petrol price in India should have been around Rs 60 per litre but we are still paying around Rs 100 per litre

Who is pocketing this profit of Rs 40 per litre?

crude oil was all time low in april 2020 which is peak pandemic yet Indian govt did not reduce fuel prices. We can't expect anything from this govt, we are on our own.

Lets do math as you wish: Crude oil fell from 60 to 20 which is 66percent decrease while rupee deprecated from 72 to 76 which is approx 5.5 percent. The price of crude oil fell by far more than the rupee depreciated , ideally govt should have passed the benefits to the citizens but we all know what happened
