Trolley dimensions variation

As per Air India international travel, the baggage total dimensions should not exceed 158 cm. Will they allow slightly higher dimension baggage as my trolley total dimensions is 165 cm. If they don't agree, how much they will charge as they normally charges for excess weight only. Share your experience please.

No one is sitting with a measuring tape there. It should not matter. Especially for airlines like air india where every second passenger is carrying his entire house when they travel
