Great information ! Thanks for documenting. I was trying similar way but with some cards but seems like astana match to ethiad is no longer I am using https://www.statusmatch.com/members/ to check for more options but could not find any possibility.

Is there any way from any major hotel elite status to any major airline status match ? @aakashgupta

1. Royal Air Maroc (Oneworld Alliance) – Paid Status Match

  • You can only match to Silver status (equivalent to oneworld Ruby) through hotel loyalty programs.
  • This provides basic airline perks such as priority check-in and preferred seating on oneworld airlines.
Application link: https://safarflyerstatusmatch.com/faq/
  • Higher tiers like Gold (Sapphire) or Platinum (Emerald) require an existing airline status. Hotel status alone won’t qualify for these.
You can easily match to Silver using GHA DISCOVERY Platinum or Titanium, which in turn is accessible if you hold a Mastercard World/World Elite card (e.g., HDFC Infinia Credit Card) via Mastercard x GHA status match offers.

2. Qatar Airways ⇄ Accor Live Limitless

You can match status between Qatar Airways Privilege Club and Accor ALL.

Here are the terms and conditions:
  • You must link your accounts before completing any activity.
  • A Qatar Airways flight is required to unlock the Privilege Club status if you're matching from Accor.
  • An Accor hotel stay is required to unlock Accor status if you're matching from Qatar Airways.
  • Status is not granted instantly — it’s activated after the qualifying flight or stay.
  • Names on both accounts must match exactly.

The application fees are USD $149 for Gold Sparrow tier and $49 for the Silver Jay tier, unless otherwise stated.

To be eligible, the status holder must also live or reside in the listed countries and hold ID documents such as a passport or driver's license for the eligible country.

Eligible countries that are subject to change are: Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Iraq, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Netherlands, Oman, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Turkey, UAE and UK.

If you live outside these countries, you're not eligible .

These are all for now, but I will keep researching and will keep you updated.

Thank you for sharing these details. Appreciate it. I also checked with Emirates via chat, they confirmed it's possible to match with airastana tiers to emirates but it's one less tier than astana. They referred to statusmatch for any confirmation. But however I did not see lot of value in getting silver status as I am planning to travel in business or first class & it's gonna be one time for now which covers most of the silver privileges. But thanks once again for the post.

I tried the Wyndham based on Mastercard World card I have. They declined saying - 'Please note only Mastercard cardholders in China/Southeast Asia eligible.'

Has anyone else also faced this issue?

Hello everyone,

I currently hold below premium status

Air India Maharaja - Gold (Star Alliance) Valid till Dec 2025

Marriot Bonvoy - Gold (Till Dec 25)

Accor- Platinum (Acquired last year, expecting to be retained till this year end)

Next year (2026) I have plans to Travel US with family of 4 (including me). Will take multiple domestic flights via United Airlines with rewards redemption.

As it's a family trip, will need to carry and checkin baggage in our trips. With current star alliance I'm eligible to checkin baggage but it expires by year end.

I'm also planning to take some ihg hotel redemptions for stays.

As it's for next year any status match experts here can help me acquire any status match to Star alliance gold for next year or United airlines status match to retain for next year? Also any possible elite statuses in IHG hotels ro make my family trip better in USA?

TIA

You can apply for an Etihad status match to obtain Etihad Gold for USD 99 by leveraging your Air India status. This grants benefits such as fast-track immigration, additional baggage allowance, priority check-in, and more. However, in my opinion, you may not be able to fully utilize most of these perks when traveling with a family of four, since airlines typically permit only one guest per member in facilities like airport lounges.

After that, you can apply for United Airlines status on their website; I can see Etihad listed in the status-match dropdown menu, but Air India is not available. Hence you can try to apply for status match with United Airlines hoping for the best but I am not sure if it is going to work.

If it works, it will grant you Star Alliance Gold once again which you could match again with another airline in the future.

Accor- Platinum (Acquired last year, expecting to be retained till this year end)
You can also apply for Qatar Airways status match using your Accor Status.

Thanks for the info. I understand while travelling with family all of us can not obtain lounge and other benefits but what I'm looking at now is a checkin baggage main as it could save very huge. Will try this.
