I am looking to book for Taj Agauda fort Goa And customer care denied about member price for using amex gv and called reception too asking the same but they transfers the call to reservation team every time, How to confirm?

I stayed at Taj Madikeri last week & multiple folks there said can't use. Had to book at normal rates - no packages, no member rates, no tata neu, no shareholders rate. The team there mentioned that they have been given strict instructions over last 4-5 months to not let redemptions on any discounted rates.

No. Vouchers don't have names anyway. Anyone's valid Taj GV can be used.

For Amex Taj GV I follow simple logic of getting everything on mail with regards to voucher acceptance if I don’t intend to shell out the stay charges out of my pocket. At Max it gonna cost me a night less out of overall stay but peace of mind is guaranteed. At times direct property rates offer good value vis a vis paid promotional bookings in terms of inclusions. Trial and error method is always there anyways.

Taj Cicade has allowed me using GV on member package “Art of Staycation” .

I will be staying at 4 Taj properties in Goa in 1st week of Jan !

I have a query, I have booked next month at udaipur lake palace at members rate, I have amex taj voucher and when I asked the reservation there, they told me it won’t be accepted, any hack that can be used here? I have 2 days to cancel the booking otherwise it would be chargable

Safest to call Taj Reservations and tell them you have these vouchers to use.

They will tell you that you can use them for ANY publicly available non member rate.
(I've used Amex Taj GVs to book non member package rates at Vivanta, Pakyong in 2023)

Book through them.

They will capture your voucher in their booking.

This way the hotel also knows that you will be settling through these vouchers in part or full.

Olympus/Citi Prestige Taj GVs previously used to have same all round usage as Taj Experiences Gift Cards.
This appears to have changed recently, as per what Taj Reservations has told me on multiple occasions.
Olympus/Citi Prestige Taj GVs now have same usage as Amex Taj Vouchers.

The choice is between chance and peace of mind.
So sort it out through proper official channels before entering non refundable stage in your booking.

Of course, individual hotels may be more generous now and then and let you use Amex Taj GVs for booking member rates and in their restaurants.
(Both of which I’ve gained from myself in 2023 (Sawai Man Mahal) and 2024 (Taj Santa Cruz).

So should I take the risk, or go to standard rates, I have talked to reservations team and they have told me that if is amex vouchers and won’t be applicable on members rate. I don’t know whether receptionits will allow it?

I have a trip planned to Goa this month, and have 2 Amex Taj vouchers worth 10K each. Since I wanted to redeem them during this trip, and didn't want to take any chances, I reached out to the reservations team and they confirmed that I should only book standard rates (member rate is around 4k less than standard rate).

So, its better to book standard rates for peace of mind.

I have many times booked at member rate and used amex taj gv everytime without any issues. Just inform at reception that you will be using gv for payment at checkin

Recently booked in Vivanta Coimbatore. Booked hotel directly via them over email / call. After little bit of negotiation, they gave me a rate with BF and one major meal inclusion which matched the member rate on Taj website.

Was able to pay via Amex Taj GV at the time of checkout.

In my experience some city properties allow this. Most of resort properties won’t
