Schengen Visa question: Can I enter Schengen area in a different country than the country which issued me visa?

If you have Schengen visa then you don't require transit visa.
You need insurance for Visa approval. You can change the dates in insurance if you plan to postpone the trip.

Don't know. I had processed the Visa via agent. Initially I gave 10 days itinerary with dummy flight tickets. After Visa approval I booked my flight tickets and sent those to the agent. Accordingly he changed the Insurance dates.

I have also changed bookings even flights after visa. I have booked a refundable, expensive flight for visa and then changed it to cheaper non-refundable flight after visa approval. In my opinion, as long as you have the proofs for your stay and return flight, you should be fine in most circumstances.

There are two ways.

1. You can book fully refundable ticket from Qatar Airways website directly. It'll cost you more but you'll get full refund without any problem. This is not dummy ticket. This is original ticket but refundable. Your money will be stuck in this method. Make sure you buy fully refundable ticket only.

2. There are some websites from which you can buy dummy ticket with a small fee. Onwardticket.Com is one such website. There are many others

So I can apply from any country for schengan visa even though I have an India passport. Just confirmed with many folks who applied in US and went to germany. With India passport, I will have to visit DC for the visa process.

If I am holding only an Indian ppt (and working n living in India), I am supposed to apply for Visa (USA/UK/Schengen.....) in India to their consulate/embassy.

If you are living n working - say in USA - as an NRI or on work permit - then you can apply for a 3rd country Visa - in USA.

But, if you are in USA on a tourist visa, no work permit in USA, and you hold an Indian ppt, you can't apply from USA.

Go to some other countries which respect tourists. In logo ka bhao girne do. There are lots of beautiful countries out there apart from G7.

I'm planning for a Europe trip and wanted to start the trip on 14-June. We are visiting Switzerland, Spain and France.
I was thinking of applying for Schengen visa through Switzerland VFS as I hear the acceptance rate is high.

Coming to my queries,
1. I have the earliest slot for 26 May in Bangalore. Will I get visa before 14-June? Or is it too risky?
2. I'm sponsoring my wife, she has my name in her passport; But I don't have her name in mine. So, Is marriage certificate a mandatory document? Or any other documents will suffice?

Please share your experience. Thanks!

You'll get Visa in approx 1 week. Regarding the marriage certificate, IMO it's better to submit the marriage certificate than any other document.
