Does SBI RUPAY card charge rent payment fee for UPI transaction?
They have charged me 199 plus gst for making UPI payment through credit card

I scanned at a local merchant for 2 days
Transaction was successful both the days
But rent payment was charged for 1 day
When I called customer care , they told once the transaction is settled , they will review MCC .
It seems merchant qr can have individual account to bank
It seemed not so satisfying

Yeah ! It’s so annoying. If I have to pay 199 for every 30 rs payment, it’s pointless to use CC

They will reverse charges ..
It's just that u have to fight

SBI has refused to refund the rent payment charges .
I have raised the complaint in RBI Ombudsman website .

lesson learnt is , be careful while using SBI RUPAY CC for UPI transaction

I hope you win this case and RBI orders SBI to pay you a compensation as well besides reversing the charges. SBI Cards is completely out of control

Where you paid ? which merchant ?

Many hotels and online hotel booking site use rent payment MCC code.

Normal credit card transaction also charge rent surcharge when you pay to any hotels or online hotel booking site.

This has nothing to do with RUPAY CC on UPI.

This was parking fee . Scan and pay .
Hotels and lodges I agree , and the bill would be in thousands .
But this is about Rs 30 payment . How does it make sense to impose Rs 199 just because it comes under rent MCC? !!

And how do we know MCC of scanner !!

Call SBI customer care or send email and ask your transaction MCC Code.

Finally SBI CARD reversed the rent payment charges .

The principal nodal officer obliged after filing complaint with RBI Ombudsman.

Going forward , I will not make any UPI payment from SBI credit card.

Very strange that only SBI does these things.

Many people use UPI payment from SBI credit card, No one complaint about Rent payment charges.

I think merchant used Rent MCC code that's why SBI charged you.

Next time use on any other merchants.

No one yet complaint about rent payment charges on SBI CC on UPI Payment..

By the way you can complaint to RuPay twitter handle and explain everything.

Explain them everything, sometimes they also ask transaction details for investigation.

You can also told them I will not make any UPI payment from SBI RuPay credit card until this is fixed.
