SBI Reported Late Payment in CIBIL for ₹12.82 Penal Charge Despite Active Auto-Debit Setup

Hi Technofino Community,

I need some urgent help and advice on an issue I'm facing with SBI.

I have a personal loan with SBI and an active auto-debit setup linked to my SBI salary account. My EMI of ₹19,499 is deducted automatically every month, and I haven’t missed a single payment in the last 2+ years since the inception of the loan.

On 03 May 2025, a small charge of ₹12.82 (labelled as "PENAL CHARGES DL") was debited from my loan account. My EMI had already been paid on 2nd May via auto-debit. I wasn’t informed clearly about what this charge was or how to pay it manually.

I emailed SBI on 7th May asking about the charge and how to clear it online, but their reply on 8th May simply asked me to visit the branch. Due to work commitments, I couldn’t go, and I assumed such a small charge would be adjusted or auto-debited later.

To my surprise, when I checked my CIBIL report on 25th May, I saw that SBI had marked this as a late payment, which has now impacted my credit score.

How can I escalate this to SBI's higher authorities and request them to remove the late payment from CIBIL?

Would really appreciate any suggestions or experiences that can help.

Your first step should be to pay the dues.

2nd step - email to Customer support team requesting removal of delay reported from CICs

3rd step - If not removed, email to PNO requesting to remove delay from CICs

4th Step - RBI Ombudsman complaint (Im sure you wont have to reach this step.

It will be solved dont worry.

Paid the dues on 25th. Got a reply to my email saying I need to visit the loan availed branch. They aren’t helping at all through email.
