SBI NCMC not working

So I have been planning to use my SBI NCMC debit card for Bangalore metro from a long time, but I was never able to recharge this online, thinking that the card might need some kind of first time activation I went ahead and tried to recharge it at the POS in couple of stations but to my surprise and the staff at metro this did not work, for some reason either the people at metro or online platforms, it's not allowing me to top up.

Anyone else faced similar issue? Or is it an issue specific to Bangalore region??
 
Which card variant? Is prepaid mentioned on it?
A PIC of it will help us to answer your question.
It does have the symbol for 2 triangles and I specifically choose the NCMC variant on the yono app while applying for this.

I'm getting this message when they tried to top up at the metro station.
 
You think I post in the forum before checking on google, reddit. Why are you so obsessed with the the pic, you could have just asked for the variant, anyhow you can see the pic for reference, my card is of same variant and belong to same bucket, this is a pic from "google"

If you have posted the PIC 24 hrs back you could have got the ANSWER way early.

AFAIK this card doesn't support NCMC - I was wrong here

Let's wait for the others to comment on it

Just login to YONO sbi app. Tap on the Burger menu located in the top left corner and hit Mobility. If you can see the NCMC card(access) option inside the Mobility sub menu and its a definitely a NCMC card.
You can topup the card with your savings a/c and visit a nearby Metro counter/kiosk and update your balance and you are good to go

You can topup the card with your savings a/c and visit a nearby Metro counter/kiosk and update your balance and you are good to go
I am able to see the card under mobility, I have tried this before and again right now, the NFC is enabled and when I try to recharge it gives me an error and I get the same message as above, that the top up is not successful.

2 yrs back when i visited Chennai Metro station to activate/topup the card they said its not working/impossible(the counter filled with all WOMEN employee) :smirking-face: . When i visited other MAIN metro station the senior person listened to my query patiently and activated it.
So visit a Metro junction and fix the issue.
Say that your friend having the same card variant has activated it recently. I said the same thing to them. They will get offended and try to solve the issue. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

I had this card before and it used to work in metro and I was able to activate it at metro and do top up but after few months, I lost it and had to block it, got the very same card but after 3 months in June, and trying to get it activated ever since then, not able to activate the offline wallet.

I did try at multiple metro stations yesterday, they did put in good amount of time and tried to reach out to other staff and see what the issue was, but no one was able to add the balance, and I just checked in Paytm it gave an error message that SBI is not accepting payments as of now, I think this is something to do with SBI systems and nothing w.r.t user.

Sounds like a legit problem that SBI needs to fix
