SBI Credit card - overlimit using negative balance

Has anyone tried to exceed credit limit of an SBI credit card by adding funds before hand so that the statement amount is less than credit limit? Did that incur an overlimit fee?

For example, can I add Rs 1L to a credit card with Rs 21k limit so that I can spend Rs 80k in the billing cycle?

This query is specifically for SBI credit cards.

Nope. Just top-up with required amount before you transact.

i used like this many times, but some reported that its not working for them so its not sure whether it will work for you or not

I just applied for overlimit. Idk whether it will help.
