SBI credit card 3rd card / upgrade help

I have 2 SBI credit cards. SBI simplyclick and SBI Cash back card. I have tried apply for SBI BPCL credit card, however, it has been rejected. Is there any restriction on number of credit cards from SBI. Tried upgrading my simplyclick card to BPCL card, even that request is also rejected. Any way to get BPCL Octane card?

A person can hold 3 card from SBI as per general policy. However there is a cooldown period in SBI.

Was the process smooth? Just calling the customer care works?
I have SBI SC & SBI CB, want SBI IRCTC. Don't need SBI SC, so converting it is fine, if only they allow. (I asked them via mail - they replied not possible now)

For me, it took multiple escalations and continuous follow up for 3 months. Finally told to close my card, then they had agreed to upgrade.

i have preapproved offer for SBI cb through net banking section, but i already have SBI cb, should i take it as second cashback cc?

Holding 2 same cards, is that possible?! I don't know, seems strange! If it says pre approved, you can try accepting. But don't apply again for it during the process.
