Query Regarding SBI Debit Card Annual Charges

I just noticed today SBI had activated a DC that I never even got 4 years back and that AMC of Rs. 236 was cut today. They refused to take back the charges even after blocking the card. Any way I can get it back? I've noticed Canara and SBI doing this. Charging for never used cards.

I think if card is issued in your name / your account, and it is shown in netbanking, then they will debit the charges.
Temporary blocking is not enough, you need to permanently block and the status should be seen as CLOSED.
Then they won't take charges. Apart from that, all other cases, whether you are using or not, activated or not, doesn't matter.
Sorry but I think that's how it is. You can try and escalate and complain to PNO/ RBIO.

Can you elaborate the process to close the card via yono or online.
I thought permanent block will not charge my physical debit card

I blocked / closed the physical card only a week ago. Currently, you block the card (via netbanking => e-Services => Debit card => Block ATM Card => Select the ATM card => Type of blocking => Permanent), then it is marked as "CLOSED".

The card shown as ACTIVE is actually the virtual card.

Dear Members,

I have a question regarding SBI Bank's Debit Cards, particularly those categorized as First Year Free (FYF). If I were to close a debit card after using it for 11 months and subsequently apply for a new one, repeating this process annually, would the bank deduct any annual charges from my account? :hehe:
ATM replacement charges are ₹300 + GST. Refer SBI website for that.
