One more question, do I need to wait for the statement generation or I can redeem once the total RP reaches 1k? My bill was on 1st and the RPs was 800 that time and now it went past 1K.

No need to wait for statement generation, if the apps shows enough RP, call and redeem. I redeemed another 1500 a few days back.

Yes came to know, as soon as app showed 1000 points I redeemed it but rather calling wrote email to customer care and got it reedemed.

Little lengthy process though, they should put an option in the app itself so that the job will done in couple of taps. But not sure if they gonna do it incase they want to promote the brand vouchers for redemption.
