This is not a trick, this is a feature and yes this feature is still ON and it still works!!!
Do we need to have credit card in name of ourselves or we can pay anyone's credit card bill and get 1% cashback ?
Also i already have millenia debit card for my preferred salary account and utilizing it for wallet cashback (that might get removed in future), can i get my wife's account opened under family account and get platinum debit card (without fee) for her ?

Any name on cc is fine.
Yes, one dc per one account, dc is free for any hni program

Guys, how long does it take for the payment to reflect on cc?

I had paid for the 1st time using this method. Paid on 2nd Feb for Axis, still as of now the payment has not reflected in the card. My due date is 7th Feb.

I tried to add my recently acquired SBI CB to the biller list and it is only asking the last 4 digits of the card.
How would the payment succeed in this case?

CC last 4 digits are not the only requirement here.
Combination of mobile number and last 4 digits of the credit card are used to identify the account.
I don't think anyone will have credit cards with same last digits and that too with single issuer.

Even when you call customer care they usually ask your registered mobile number and last 4 digits of the credit card to identify your account.

So it's a trusted and secure method because you don't have to enter your full card number.

I paid 5 days ago, and haven't received the cb yet. Is there any particular reason to wait for so long?

that is for different user (based on original message). and for you, hope you paid through 'debit card' then don't worry, it will be credited before some time. It works, no issues found so far after all these years, just delay by day or two, thats it but it works if paid through 'debit card'.

fun fact: until 2022, it took 90 days to credit the cashback like Millennia debit card. they improved the system yet no need to keep checking, check at the end of month and redeem those cashback (I hope there is no emergency for 750rs.).
