I will be closing the Plat Travel CC in a couple of months. Have around 200k MR points that I will be transferring to Mariott Bonvoy before card closure.

Question: If I take the HDFC Mariott Bonvoy CC, will I get the Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite Status benefits when I book stays using AMEX MR points?

You amex points will be transferred to Marriott account which is linked with HDFC Marriott credit card, then yes will enjoy silver elite membership.
I did the same last year and got room upgrade

And rooms booked using Amex MR points will be counted for the Gold status, right? 10 nights from the HDFC Mariott Bonvoy CC and 15 nights booked using Amex MR points......25 nights I guess to become a Gold member

How does this work? Do I have to provide my Marriott Bonvoy ID to HDFC while applying for the card/after card approval? Or HDFC links the card to the Marriott Bonvoy account using the mobile number?
HDFC used to ask for your existing Marriott number earlier, but now they are creating new accounts only.

Once you have the card and your new Marriott account is created, you can merge your existing Marriott account with the new one, and keep old or new Marriott number as per your preference.

If you continue to use the card, points will continue to be credited in your Bonvoy account every month, and this counts as a qualifying activity.

Your points expire only if there is no qualifying activity in your account for 24 consecutive months.
so should rather say, marriot points should be credited b/w a certain amount of time to keep the account active

Yes! Any qualifying activity will update your points expiration date to 2 years from that date. You can check your points expiration date along with every qualifying activity in the Bonvoy app, they're very transparent about that.

Points transferred from HDFC, Amex or any other partner, and completing a stay at any participating hotel counts as a qualifying activity.

Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status is the entry-level elite tier in Marriott’s loyalty program. Its primary benefits include:

10% bonus points on eligible hotel spends (room rates, dining, etc.).

Priority late checkout, subject to hotel availability.

Exclusive member rates and complimentary in-room Wi-Fi when booking directly through Marriott.

Ultimate reservation guarantee (Marriott will pay compensation if it cannot honor your reservation).

Occasional discounts at gift shops in some participating brands.

Silver Elite does not include complimentary breakfast, room upgrades, or lounge access—those start from higher elite tiers. If achieved, Silver Elite status is valid until the end of the following calendar year. Holding a Marriott co-branded credit card (like HDFC Marriott cards) gives you automatic Silver Elite status, including 10 annual Elite Night Credits.

Lifetime Silver Elite can be earned after 250 qualifying nights and 5 years of Silver
Elite status.
