Need review on Indian Bank

Does it provide daily balance alerts or customizable account balance alerts ? Are there frequest issues with SBI UPI services ?

How is the mobile banking app when compared with other PSU like Union , BOB , BOI ?
What I observed (though I didn't experience it yet), overall digital facilities are better than BOB/UNION/BOI.

In my opinion TCS B@NCS based banks like SBI/IDFC/INDIAN BANK are having better digital facilities than Infosys Finacle based banks except ICICI/Axis etc.

Branch Service quality
In PSU, Branch experience is completely dependent on the Branch executive and specifically the BM. It's true for all PSUs.

For an example, I hold a credit card with Indian Bank and last BM was good (for a PSU Bank) and I was considering opening our firm current account there just because of their service but then the BM changed, and now the service is worst.

Yes they do

Only face issues when there is a nationwide server problem. This happens quite often nowadays.

I don't use those accounts, so I'm unable to comment on them.

Hi,

I need your review on Indian Bank service as I found their netbanking portal is looking better than other PSBs like BoB or PNB etc:

1. Branch Service quality
2. Overall server availability
3. UPI failures/UPI availability
4. Service charges
5. SMS alert/Email alert
6. Service requests TAT/Complain resolving

Thanks
1. Depends on your location

2. Generally available, though sometimes goes down out of the blue; however that is rare and happens at late night or early morning

3. Works well, but there is a per transaction limit over the per day limit; I assume it is 25k

4. Maybe for debit cards

5. Works

6. Depends; credit card team is useless, while the normal banking team is reliable compared to it; tat depends on request type; for example, application for a debit card is processed immediately, you just have to wait for delivery

They update credit score against loan products on time and accurately too; their credit card application is very smooth and straightforward compared to others, letting you know if you are eligible or not

But at the end of the day, it is still a PSU; some issues may happen which no one can give you feedback for; psu are good as long as nothing breaks; if something breaks, all comes down on how lucky you are

Axis is a chutiya bank but banking services are top notch. Never faced a UPI Downtime. App always works as intended.

The app of Indian Bank and Central Bank of India is developed by TCS and it's shit. Dont work half of the time.

In respect to that banks like Canara and Yes bank uses Oracle FlexCube. Never faced an issue with them.

TCS provided the CBS, i.e. B@NCs SBI's YONO, based on the same system. Unfortunately, few banks, especially public sector banks (PSBs), are using very inexpensive IT infrastructures, so customers are facing significant trouble. I am sharing one incident with you. A few years ago, I visited a Union Bank branch for some reason, and I was shocked to see that they were still using Windows 7. We still prefer PSBs because it's backed by Govt of India & comparatively cheaper than Private entities, else PSBs are mostly junk in India. This statement is bitter but sadly true. Private Banks may levy more charges than PSBs, but they are transparent & vigilant enough. PSBs are mostly associated with corrupt leaders & they are actually not accountable with people's money. One of my recent incidents with BOB opened my eyes. I lost almost Rs 6k from this bank, even the RBI ombudsman couldn't protect me. Infact RBI Ombudsman couldn't act good in PSBs where as Private Banks are more in line with the RBI guidelines & instructions.

J&K Bank also uses TCS based Finacle. Have a visit in one of its Branches and ask for any system-based request, ull know.

This statement is not 100% true and should not be taken as a generalization. Experiences Vary

J&K bank uses Infosys Finacle not TCS B@NCS, most of the banks in India are using Finacle apart from B@NCS or Flexcube etc. I already mentioned, everything depends on the IT infra. Irony is that most of the PSBs are using older version of Finacle. How can you expect good service from them? PSBs are more vulnerable than major Private banks actually.

Does Indian bank's Rupay platinum Debit card still provide 1 Domestic+1 International Lounge visit per year without any spend criteria? I used their Rupay Platinum card once for Domestic lounge visit 2 years back. Not sure if any new TnCs have been added. The debit card doesnt work for Rupay Platinum card offers on Swiggy( even the bank's customer care is clueless about the reason behind this). 1000052836.webp

Which offer is this?

Which offer is this?
Swiggy used to give offer on Rupay platinum debit cards: 20% off upto Rs 100 on Fridays.(not sure if they have discontinued it now) My old Indian bank Rupay Platinum debit cards worked flawlessly for this offer but after the card expired I ordered a new Rupay Platinum debit card from Indian Bank's mobile app. Strangely this new Rupay platinum debit card was not eligible for the swiggy offer. Both swiggy and Indian bank's customer care people couldnt tell the reason for it. 1000052837.webp
