Need info on Zero balance Savings account

Hi , I already hold hdfc and idfc bank savings account for different purposes. HDFC is for salary and idfc for investments. Now I wanted a zero balance account for daily upi spends, with free debit card preferably from a psu.
So I selected SBI insta plus account that comes with free virtual dc. However, while applying the account, it's asking to submit details for physical dc that is definitely chargeable. How to skip that part? I want only free virtual dc.
Also, will I be able to setup UPI without physical debit card?

Another alternative is Bob lite But i have to maintain atleast 3k daily in order to waive off physical dc charges. I preferred SBI Because it would help me in taking their credit card in future.
Also are there sms alert charges in both these accounts? Pls guide.

many PSU have recently reduced MAB requirements. But do remember that PSU banks often require branch visits. So opt for whichever has the nearest branch from your residence and walk in.
alternatively, for your main purpose of UPI, go for slice acct. you can even open it on a mobile no that is not your aadhar linked mobile.

In SBI, most of the entry level dcs are FYF.Go ahead with the account opening process. Once successfully opened and get the physical card, you can block it from Yono SBI.
Thus the account will remain truly zero balance

Block after activation and setting up UPI right? It won't charge AMC for next year na

Bob advantage account is now zero balance account
Option1. Take free virtual card from app
Option 2 take Easemydrip dc with 500. It pays u 4x u of fee u pay via fk,bb vouchers

That way even Bob lite is 0 balance, only if you need Ltf platinum debit card with NCMC you need to maintain 3k QAB

Even though i have 3 PSU bank a/c SBI,BOB & CANARA
I always prefer my KOTAK 811 ZERO a/c to send/scan or receive money because it works instant/fast including SMS alerts when compared to PSU a/c's.
Physical Debit card is OPTIONAL
