Need Clarity on HDFC Debit Card Limit Per Customer

Problem solved! I spoke with the branch manager, explained why I needed the third debit card, and highlighted that there’s no specific rule restricting it. He understood my situation and issued the Millennia Debit Card for my third account. 😅

Hi everyone,
I currently have 3 savings accounts with HDFC Bank, and I've already been issued 2 Millennia Debit Cards—each linked to a different account.

Now, I want to get a 3rd debit card for my 3rd account, but the bank employee is refusing, stating I can't hold more than 2 debit cards.

This sounds unusual since each account is separate.
Has anyone else faced a similar restriction?
Is there any official policy from HDFC that limits the number of debit cards a customer can hold across different accounts?

Would appreciate if someone can share their experience or an official source link.

If all accounts in one single branch only then max. limit is 2. Get one of the account transferred to another nearest branch and get it from there.

Yes, both of my active Millennia Debit Cards are from the same branch.

However, my 3rd account was recently opened in a different branch, and it's a rural branch.

Still, they are saying I'm not eligible for a 3rd debit card, even though it's technically from a different branch.

You can complain on the customer care number 18001600 or 18002600.

First Account: Initially, I opened it as a zero-balance account in which I was not allowed to upgrade the debit card. Recently, I converted it online into a regular savings account, and I was issued a Millennia debit card for it.

Second Account: This account initially had a monthly average balance requirement of ₹5,000. About a year ago, I converted it into a Special Active Account.

Third Account: I opened this account online just 10–20 days ago at a rural branch, which originally had a monthly average balance requirement of ₹2,500. I also converted it into a Special Active Account. For this account, I was issued a Millennia debit card from a different branch (not my home br
anch).

Can we open second account using different mobile number? I was wondering if it will allow to proceed considering same PAN but with different mobile number. Do you have any insights?
