Need advice: buy a car-sedan

My current car is Hyundai too. But next car I am looking is Mahindra BE 6. Mostly pack 2 or 3 with 59kwh battery. They just released pricing for 79 kwh pack 3.
Even now I’m fascinated with Mahindra and Tata cars. They’re definitely loaded cars with safety.

- BE 6, XEV 9e
- Punch, Safari, Harrier upcoming Sierra.

But I’m a person who loves Diesel & Petrol engines.

Buy Amaze without 2nd thought....I am driving from 5 years without any issues...The chasis of amaze and honda city is same.

Looking to buy a car-sedan. This would be our first car. My wife would be the primary driver. I am hoping I would be keen to learn car driving in the future. Have driven Activa till now.

Mostly will be using in the city for errands and sometimes outstation trips. We are not sure yet how much we would be using the car.

Mostly will be used by me and my wife with my wife being the talented driver in the family 🙂

On road Budget - Little flexible - 8 - 12lacs
City - Bangalore

1. Petrol or diesel?
2. Need a decent boot space
3. Smooth Car steering
4. Inclined towards automatic. Any additional maintenance cost attached to automatic cars?
5. Maintenance cost budget?
6. Any other points to consider.

We don't have any idea about cars. Open to any suggestions/advice which can help our buying process smooth and cost effective.
Which car did you bought then ?

@hender 🙂

Nissan Magnite. Automatic is best for Bangalore traffic.

Completely agree with the automatic part. I checked that out too but wasn't too happy with the dealer and quality of the vehicle
Had decided to go with the Honda elevate CVT model but when we went to the showroom the 2025 Amaze model caught our attention too...test drove both and my wife loved both the cars...went ahead and purchased the 2025 Honda amaze cvt in jan 2025.
It has been a perfect match for our needs and we are very happy with it. Honda dealership was such a pleasent surprise too but we felt so good buying from them, the treatment and everything.

Maruti Dzire. The new one is really good. Can't go wrong with it.
Honda amaze cvt petrol. It'll be in the budget.
It looks outdated and cheaply built compared to the Dzire. CVT is one of the worst transmissions. Press the accelerator today and the car starts moving tomorrow.
If you can stretch your budget a bit then can go with skoda slavia/ vw virtus
Slavia, Virtus and Verna all with the 1.5 turbo engines would be my picks. Skip the Slavia/Virtus with the 1.0 engine. If you like this engine get the Kylaq.
Can check the new Maruti Dzire
+1
Skoda and VW are white elephants... Jab tak chalte hain tab tak nothing beats them but jab koi error aata hai then it screw the hell out of you...
I had bitter sweet experience of having both cars
I disagree. We still have a Rapid and besides the regular service, it does not need anything.
