It took 3 attempts for me to get sbi cb card.
First attempt straight reject via sprint for visa version last year during October 2024
2nd attempt during jan 2025 n I applied for mc version n it was approved.
Though this happiness was short lived. Sbi cards closed the card in 1 week saying they wrongly approved by mistake
I had seen about over leverage during my second attempt itself n hence after 2nd time when my card was blocked I decided to act on it
I reduced my credit cards limit in which I don't use much and also closed one card which I did not use much
I had these cards during 2nd attempt
Infinia
Icici amazon pay
Icici coral
Indusind platinum
Idfc select
Axis ace
Axis airtel
Hdfc biz rupay
I closed biz rupay and indusind platinum and also idfc select
However before my 3rd attempt itself I got
Hsbc live
Idfc wealth
Swiggy hdfc
Amex corporate card
I also reduced limits in above cards n before applying for sbi cb such that my I maintained my overall CL close to 1.5x of my package
Then 3rd attempt was in April 2025 and it got approved. This time I did not spend much n waited till May month for bill generation to avoid issue like 2nd attempt. It was generated in may month and now I m using it as usual
I did not find it this much difficult when I had upgraded for infinia too
Sometimes I see sbi cb > infinia as well and it's the true king of all cb cards
By the time I got sbi cb I also took hit on my credit score from 805 to 795 now cos of cards closed, reopened n limits that I changed which effected my CUR
