Maximize SBI Cashback: Get 3.3% on PhonePe Merchants Via UPI

If you have the SBI Cashback Credit Card, here’s a smart way to earn around 3.3% effective cashback on PhonePe merchant payments.

1. Visit Maximize.Money


2. Buy a PhonePe Gift Card using your SBI Cashback Credit Card
(You get 5% cashback from SBI, but there’s a 1.7% surcharge—so net cashback is approx. 3.3%)


3. Add the gift card to your PhonePe account


You can use this balance at PhonePe UPI merchants.
In my experience, most merchants accept this without any issue.

I am using gift card to pay at Phonepe merchant qr for over 2 months. It always shows phone pe gift card for payment after scanning the qr.

I scanned another merchant QR not phonepay. My mistake

I buy lunch at my office cafeteria everyday which has a phonepe qr, used to pay through superupi to get random 0.5-1 rs discount, let's see if I can utilise my sbi cb cc and phonepe wallet for this 🙂😂

Just for confirmation, will be trying a 100rs test transaction to check CB

Bought 100rs phonepe gv, on maximize page it was showing 1.9rs surcharge but only 100rs payment made via card, why so 🤔

Will it be charged later on?

Happy to say that I was able to pay using phonepe gift card at my local soda shop 🤣 (5% CB sorted on my soda spends if this works)

Following up on it, why wasn't I charged the 1.9rs surcharge shown on the maximise page 🤔
