Perhaps both. I found out that Accor has good hotels in Europe. So planned to transfer around 60K ER to Accor All. But now after reading this I feel like I should redeem ER to Airmiles. So I searched a bit and found out Turkish has good amount of flights to europe but Taxes are around 22.5K for Economy return flight. Whereas United has very low taxes but flight availability is issue.
All in all I thing I'd rather redeem the ER to Amazon or flipkart coupon.
Why would you redeem amazon ? If you really dont want to transfer at current rate, keep ER as it is, you can transfer anyhow at 5:2 which is still better than amazon

You are right. It doesn't make sense to redeem for 5:1 but I am new to this Airmiles and Hotel points thing and from past 3 days I have been trying to figure out what to do and still I am confused. Thats why I said maybe Airmiles and Hotel points is not my cup of tea and I should just take the Amazon voucher.

The HDFC redemption system is really great. No need to convert just book any flight or hotel. Maybe axis could also have done something similar.

Airmiles is quite complicated. However hotels is not. Just transfer points to Accor and search for property via app on your required dates and location. Thats it! If you need different hotel, then transfer point to other hotel partners. Well known hotels chains are few - Accor, Marriott, IHG and ITC

Yes ITC or ITC to MB is a good option but I am not yet interested in luxury hotels.
For Europe trip I was planning to transfer 60K ER to Accor but I think someone just pointed out that all of budget hotels do not accept booking through Accor All.

Perhaps you are seeing it wrongly. I booked return Economy tickets(Air India tickets) for Europe(BLR to Frankfrut, Amsterdam to BLR) and total tax was around 8k.
Hey I'm also planning a euro trip in near future (dates not decided), I want to move my points to correct places before 1st September, I'm already moving close to 1lakh points to Accor but I'll still be left with close to 1 lakh more points once July milestone and Samsung Infinite bonus cashes in. If you don't mind can you please share(DM?) your itinerary and where you moved and used points, mainly I'm looking for good airlines.

Lol it's just one guy who mentioned that accor is useless with single digit post count. And u r giving 100% weight to him against several others with much higher post count than him.

You need to understand that there will be all sort of posts online, but u need to able to identify which posts are Clickbait, Fake or misleading and which are genuine. And after that try it urself to identify if it works for you or not.

Personally, I find accor most useful and easy to redeem, as I prefer budget hotels over luxury itc/Marriott and economy class flights over business class.

Many do. Search for hotels and see if there is an 'All Points' label for the hotel. If you find the logo, you can settle using points. I checked for Paris and saw many budget properties with the 'All Points' label.

I agree. I have seen availability in accor hotels for ibis etc and most of them accept points. You just need to search correctly before believing others. I have transferred close to 2 lakh points to accor. For hotels, i don't look beyond Accor. Some points I have moved to ITC which might be transferred to Marriot. Other than that hotels means Accor for me. For airlines it's Turkish and Krisflyer. Of late, booking online through Turkish is getting complicated otherwise Turkish gives best value.
