With addition of new partners in April , 2023 & Milestone bonuses Axis Magnus can boast of amazing possibilities for travel. I hereby enclose a Luxury Trip to Thailand using different partners of Magnus.

1)International Flight : DEL-BKK .Most Luxurious way to fly to Thailand is Business class of Thai airways as TG 315/316 ( A350-900) has 1-2-1 configuration with all seats with aisle access beside most convenient timings. One way in business costs 27500 Thai Miles plus INR 9500/- approximately as taxes. Same TG flight on revenue fare cost around INR 54000/- giving redemption value of INR 1.62/-per Thai mile.Same in economy shall cost around 17500 Thai miles. Similar rates from other cities in India .. Mumbai/Bangalore. One needs to transfer Edge rewards to Thai Airways account. Please note Award seat availability is limited ( TG usually releases 2 seats in business class in each flight) & need to be booked well in advance. Another advantage of flying business from BKK on TG is a dedicated gate for Check in, Security & Immigration & Complimentary Spa ( This facility stopped during Covid time ... not sure whether restarted yet).

2) Domestic Flights in Thailand . One can travel to Phuket(HKT), Koh Samui( USM) & Krabi ( KBV) & other places from BKK. Cheapest & best partner to use is JAL( Transfer edge rewards to JAL). For example BKK-USM, USM -HKT & HKT-BKK, all three sectors combined in economy shall cost a total of 12000 JAL miles plus INR 1500/- in taxes. Flights are on Bangkok Airways & it is one of the finest airlines to fly domestic sectors in Thailand. Please note JAL uses a distance based award chart. Same seats in economy in Bangkok Airways revenue ticket shall cost at least INR 17000-20000/- in low season & around INR 30000/- in high season; this gives average redemption value of INR 1.25 to 2.35 per JAL miles. The Business class award ticket comes at 24000 JAL miles plus INR1500/-. One can fly to Phuket from Bangkok in economy on other Flights like Thai Smiles & Air Asia at slightly cheaper rates but economy seats have narrow pitch & narrow width in comparison to Bangkok Airways. Ofcourse Flights to & fro Koh Samui ( USM) one need to fly with Bangkok Airways only.

3) Hotel Stay in Thailand : How about staying in Luxurious hotels & resorts spread all over Thailand at 45 % discount. Best partner to use is Accor ALL . Accor group boasts of multiple Five star Luxury hotels all over Thailand. Accor award points have a value of 1 point=INR 1.80( Redemption Fixed @ 2000 Accor points= 40 Euro). Hence Accor hotels can be used at a discount of almost 45% . With the Euro rising against INR in the last few months , we would not be surprised if the discount comes to 50%.Luxury hotels in Bangkok include So Sofitel , Banyan Tree ; in Phuket are Avista Grande Phuket Karon -MGallery ,Movenpick Phuket Bangtao beside other Novotel & pullman resorts, In Koh samui are Banyan Tree & Garrya Tongsai Bay. It is important to cancellable booking , Pay at the hotel. Before transferring Edge rewards to Accor, please check with hotel customer care that these points are to be redeemed.

Summary : As we can see from above, a Luxury trip to Thailand can be made using Axis Magnus' different partners getting an average value of INR 1.50-2.00/- Per mile. Please note before transfer of Edge Rewards to partners, award availability with respective partners need to be checked.

Here is a budget trip plan for Thailand.

23000 JAL miles and 5K INR for BLR-BKK-BLR economy round trip on Sri Lankan airlines with layover at CMB (No Sri Lankan visa needed, as you won't cross immigration area).

12000 JAL miles and 480 INR for BKK-HKT-BKK economy round trip on Banglok airlines (you get free airline lounge access).

4K Accor for accor plus - Free welcome drink, late check-out and 10% extra discount on Stay and F&B.

7K Accor points and 50 INR for IBIS Phuket for 3 nights (flexible rate) including breakfast (paid online) and dinner (paid at checkout)

8K Accor points and 400 INR for Grand Mercure Bangkok for 2 nights including breakfast and dinner (all online) (It says refundable, but in actual it is non refundable. Better to go without dinner flexible package at 6K points and then book dinner at hotel, as it is cheaper.)

JAL redemption is complicated as it needs 6 mths cooling period after registration.

Also why waste 12000 points for BKK-HKT-BKK? Better book AirAsia which most times are available at around 2k-3K one way.

It is 60 days, not 6 months.

And those cheap flights are with hand baggage only fare. Better to avoid that. Also, convinience fee is around 1000 for international flights.

Bangkok Airways is full service carrier with free seat, meal and lounge access apart from check in luggage.

Lol revenue tickets can be booked directly from cleartrip/mmt/emt etc. Why checking JAL?

For Award ticket, JAL has 60 days cool down before u can book. For checking availability, first login to JAL account and then click below link. Don't click before login, it won't work.

U mean one way is also 12K?

Don't remember, if that's the case. But if it is, maybe 12K is minimum. One guy mentioned he took 3 flights also in same 12K only.
Since redemption of JAL on Bangkok Airways follows distance based chart, it means even one domestic sector or we go for 3 domestic sectors , miles required is 12000 in economy.

For one hour flight you don’t need all this no? I flew with PG to samui and there was no meal they handed us a snack bag but this was april 22 just coming out of covid reopening. Convenience fee isn’t there if you book directly on airline websites. For domestic flights economy miles redemption is rarely fruitful. I’m booking japan domestic flights in economy with United mileage plus as it is 5500 miles plus 6 usd. This of course offers free cancellation which costs like 9-10k inr when i book with the airlines.
