List of cards supported on GPay for NFC/Bharat QR transactions

Google pay supports debit & credit cards from various major banks which could be used for making payments to merchants via NFC (contactless) if your mobile has that feature and also Bharat QR transactions.

Personally I have been using NFC to make payments which I find very convenient & fast. You just have to unlock your mobile & tap the POS terminal.
No need to open Gpay.

On the other hand, seeing Bharat QR is very rare. I have only seen it twice in merchant shops & used it once.
For this you have to scan the QR, select card & then enter OTP to make the payment.

Note: This only works in Android as Apple doesn't allow third-party apps to use NFC.

last month bharat QR scanning was showing DC and CC of visa/master as option but when i check 2 days before, it wasnt showing option for same Bharat QR code on which i paid last month. tried on other Bharat QR too didnt showed CC/DC as payment option on that too...

can all confirm are they getting DC/CC Visa/Master option on Gpay or anywhere else while paying to Bharat QR ?

Yes just tried. For my regular shop Bharat QR, no Visa/MC credit cards are showing which means some clown 🤡 at GPay broke it

@panu24 faced the issue first time few days ago, asked for confirmation and we shared positive response, later on restarting the phone, the issue got resolved atleast for that day. Panu, anything to say?

But after viewing both the comments, tried myself, lol, something is wrong with G-pay. And their customer support, that's disgusting.

What are the other options for BharatQR other than gpay. Samsung wallet shows bharatqr supported but it never worked for me

Just checked on my local grocery store QR scan. I also can't see any Visa cards available for scan, only Rupay cards...

I also tried restating mobile phone/app, turning off/on network but did not help.

Among generic apps, only GPay supports BharatQR for Visa/MC. Other bank apps that support BharatQR are: SBI Card app, ICICI iMobile, Kotak old/full-featured app, IDFC First Bank mobile app and IndusMobile (soon to be killed). HDFC's apps don't (old PayZapp used to), old Yes Bank app used to (iris doesn't), and Indie doesn't. Kotak's new app, Kotak Lite, Kotak 811 and such faaltu, confused half-baked apps also don't. RBL MyCard also doesn't nor does Axis Mobile.

I tried with ICICI imobile. It is allowing pay only from bank account. Paying from credit card option (Visa/MasterCard) is not there

Visa/MC option won't be there in iMobile for UPI QR, it works only for BharatQR. And even for UPI QR, merchant has to enable credit card txns, then RuPay ICICI CC can be used from iMobile

Thanks! My experience was with Bharat QR. Since icici imobile is not giving the credit card option, I tried with IDFC app. It worked there with the payment from visa credit card.

Yesterday I tried iMobile on a BharatQR and it gave me 3 card options - Amazon Pay, Platinum and Rubyx Mastercard. Then I scanner a UPI merchant QR and it showed me Coral RuPay and HPCL Super Saver RuPay options. I don't know why it didn't work for you 🙁

Strange, Could it be because I have icici Rubyx master credit card only, and not having any rupay variant credit card from ICICI ? Let me get Coral Rupay and then try.

I tried with Bharat QR code that you posted in other thread. Still imobile is not showing credit cards to pay from..

Bharatqr payment from sbi app (sbi cb) was failing. So added it to gpay
