KYC / Video KYC after 3 years of card issue

I got my SBI SimplyClick card in 2022 through their SPRINT portal. Card was approved immediately. I was under the impression that KYC/VKYC was not done as I already have SBI account.

But, in 2024, I started getting mails from SBI Cards asking to submit documents online for KYC and I complied with it. Now, within one year, they sent email a few days back asking to do KYC again. Surprisingly, today I received a SMS asking me to do Video KYC using the link in the message mentioning that it is as per RBI and internal policies.

I have other banks' cards also where I hold savings account and they have not done any KYC at the time of card issue or after that.

As per RBI guidelines, KYC for CC customers has to be based on their risk profile. Frequency of KYC for high risk customers is 2 years and low risk customers is 10 years as far as I remember.

My CIBIL score is 790+ and I am transacting regularly using the card (spent 3+ lakhs in 3 years) and repaid full amount every month. Moreover, I am a salary account holder in SBI.

Can't understand on what basis they are asking for KYC every year.

Has anyone got this kind of mails / messages from SBI Cards repeatedly asking to do KYC every year? Any idea what's behind this?
