Kotak 811 Infinity Metal Debit Card – Unboxing & First Impressions

I opened a Kotak 811 Super Account today. During the process, the representative verified my Aadhaar and PAN details with the bank to confirm that I was a new-to-bank customer. After confirming this, he assured me that I would be eligible for the metal debit card if I funded the account with more than ₹81,100. The entire process was very smooth, and I also received a confirmation message stating that my 811 Infinity Debit Card has been processed.
1) Was it offline kyc as given in the offer page or online kyc ?
2) did you have to inform the kotak employee about the summer bonanza offer or was he already aware.?

  1. In my case, it was offline KYC. I believe anyone opting for the metal card might need to go through offline KYC as their terms state.

  2. I didn’t mention the Summer Bonanza offer to the Kotak employee, and he didn’t bring it up either. I’m assuming I’m eligible since the offer terms require a minimum QR-based funding of ₹25,000, and I’ve already done around ₹90,000. However, if you’re planning to open the account mainly for this offer, it’s better to confirm with them directly.
  3. The account usually gets activated within 3–4 hours. As for the debit card, I’m not sure yet it’s been two days since I opened the account and I haven’t received it. I’ll let you know once it’s delivered.
 
Thanks for the replies. Very useful. One more thing ... How did you opt for offline kyc ? And did kotak employee visit your residence or you visited the branch ? Qr based funding means we have to scan and pay the qr and our account gets funded ??

Coming to your question I went to the branch and their the staff member will first register your account on their mobile or tablet. Once you confirm the amount you want to fund, a QR code will be generated on the final screen. You then scan this QR code using your UPI app, and it will automatically display the amount you’re funding, along with your name in the message. After the payment is completed, you’ll receive a confirmation message from Kotak Bank saying "Transaction Processed Successfully" and this is what QR based funding means.

Once you confirm the amount you want to fund, a QR code will be generated on the final screen. You then scan this QR code using your UPI app, and it will automatically display the amount you’re funding, along with your name in the message. After the payment is completed, you’ll receive a confirmation message from Kotak Bank saying "Transaction Processed Successfully" and this is what QR based funding means.
One more thing I’d like to add the person who opened my account didn’t provide any other funding option other than UPI.

after opening the account in how many days did you receive the card dispatch details?
 
I did not received any dispatch details. After couple of days got message that they have received my debit card request. After that direct message received from bluedart almost a week later about card dispatch.
Oh okay, I received that message too, so I guess i need to wait patiently for the message from Bluedart.

Bro, this is for 811 super savings account or 811 zero savings account ?

Yes opened through kotak app by depositing 5k. There was an option for online kyc, but a bank representative called me and told me she will come to my place for offline kyc as online kyc sometimes give issues. So I will suggest you to open the account through app and do not proceed with online kyc. Either wait for someone to call you for offline kyc or visit nearest branch.

Ok. But I first entered basic details like email, phone and pincode to login to 811 app. In next page it is asking income and other details. But I just exited the webpage.
My q is after entering these details, by default the app asks us to do online vkyc or do we have any option to opt for offline kyc ??

But to be eligible for summer bonanza offer they have mentioned deposit amount of 25k through qr is mandatory. But you told you deposited 5k while account opening.So when the executive visited your place did you have to scan and add 25k also?

To get metal debit card, paid 81100 by QR code during offline kyc. The entire reason for offline kyc is to get metal debit card, else online kyc is enough for the voucher and plastic debit card.
