CCs have always been a carrot for the banks to sell something be it ULIPs or high variant acc.
Atleast for me , the salary account had a promise of some CC decade ago.

@sovon don't worry. The pattern that I noticed is if you keep using the hdfc savings account and debit card, it will generally trigger some cc eligibility. For your need of instant discounts, any basic hdfc core card like Moneyback will do. Just hope you get good CL on it.

LoL don't take money from strangers in digital , if sender's account is flagged that shock gets passed to your account to. So limit hdfc incoming.

Haan ye 2019 ki baat hai, mere friend ne mine savings account online open kiya tha, kyc ka dikkat tha to salo ne dusre city bheja kyc ke liye.
Upar se friend ke papa ka salary account icici mei shift karne ke liye bol rahe the, matlab kam to kiya nehi upar se bakchodi alag. Govt employee the mere friend ke papa so socha mota mal rahega account mei.
