So this is one situation:

I am in the 1899 (Earlier 1559) plan. My 24GB data got over. But the plan is valid for 4 more months.

I need some data alone. If I recharge any one of the Data plans (see image screenshot below) will I be able to use the data?

I want to use the 100 Rs plan (5GB for 90 days). But why have they named it as JIOHOTSTAR DATAPACK?

If I do that plan, still I will be able to use the data right? (Confusing because there are Data Only packs separately with 1 day, 2 day, 7 day validity etc.)

My need is less data, more validity. Earlier I could recharge for 2GB, but validity will be plan validity. (aas long as plan is valid)
Such thing is not seen now.

Yes you can use the 5gb data, currently I'm doing the same. It gives 90 days jiostar access along with 5gb data.

The data plans were good before with validity same as current plan validity. But they removed the validity option following the airtel. But went one step further and removed 84 days plan with 6gb data and introduced voice only plans.

I am aligned with your views. Telecom companies want to earn more. They found the easy wayout.

At this point we can do 100 or 195 as relatively better option.

My data is also ending in 2-3 months. Recharging them now won't benefits me at all. Because by the time I end up my data (in que), these data plans validity will expire. Also, I don't know whether this plan will be available or not that time, eventually will end up paying additional 175 every month.

Thanks @VSC I was looking for this only. So my understanding is correct. Very difficult to find out what we really want from the big list of all these plans. 99% of these are useless only. I am moving all of my family plans to 3599. That is the best as of now I think.
That's what Telco want us to do. Indirectly. Worst part is they don't even offer 1gb /1.5 gb etc per day data plan at lower prices.

They want everyone either watch reels or pay price for those who watching reels. Sad state of affairs. Do we have a choice? No.

Yes. If you have a airtel card you can look into plans below 2500 with similar data to get max cashback. There is 2025 plan for 200 days.

The 100 plan might be removed some time after ipl, so we will be back to spending more n more.

Yeah, the 6gb plan was perfect for me since I use wifi most of time and the data was useful for paying or getting a cab whenever I go out.

I would like to congratulate all the communists and socialists and other nincompoops, who pressurized TRAI to teach Jio/airtel a lesson and give SMS only pack. This is what happens when you pressure a private company into changing policies through a regulator. Regulator goes ahead and pressurize telco's just to save votebanks, and in return private companies try another tricks. if they can't find tricks, they will take the regulator through litigation.

Nothing is free or cheap in this world, everyone get it through your goddamn head.

The best way to make private companies change policy (making sure companies do it in good faith and not find tricks), is to use the freedom of choice in this open and free market. If alot of people go to a different provider, the telco will be forced to give the customer's what they want and find source of income/profit some other way.

But no, indian citizen's are so educated that they thought going through the regulator will help them. Well here we are. Regulator isn't the owner of a private/public company, they only govern/regulate common polices across all/specific industry. But as a customer, sure you do you, that west education really does bring results /s

I think this would have been done regardless of the pressure from Trai. If we see the previous interviews of Mittal , he was always talking about raising ARPU to >300. Maybe it could have happend in a couple of years. But the order from Trai expedited it.

Yes. That 2025 is also limited time I think. But that is also good. Next best after 3599.
Both are 2.5GB per day plans.

2025 for 200 days (10.125 per day)
3599 for 365 days (9.86 per day)

Thanks.

Wait untill starlink comes. Introductory is 850 per month unlimited but soon they will kill all of us. It will be just a matter of time but starlink will decide the data rate in India after 2028.
We will have to pay thousands for data. It will become as expensive as foreign countries. We cannot boast that india has the cheapest data rate in future.

You're welcome. If you have airtel card and use it first plan is slightly cheaper effectively with 12 rupees savings. So Yeah you can go ahead with 365 days plan

Naah, I'll thank communists/socialists coz the countries where they themselves rule where there isn't any capitalism, those countries are today 3rd world countries and every few decades those countries go though civil war.

You want operators to give products where you decide the price. Well, jokes on you.

Nothing comes out of an ideology like communism and it's sister socialism, specially when we all know both these ideologies were openly allies of Hitler Nazis.
