never filled offline ITR, is it same as online or need to have more knowledge ?
Same as online. But you have text form rather than a User Interface which you get only in online.

I have past experience with excel. So it doesn't matter for oldies. For a new person offline excel may seems a hassle task.

In online around 40-50% information is prefilled while in offline it is blank sheet where you need to fill your personal info. also.

Off-line utility (either Excel based or otherwise) will give you a lot of freedom to modify n do editing multiple times - till you are satisfied - to create a json file - all offline.

Even in the offline utility, you can import details/datfrom ITD site to pre-fill a lot of details.

When you are ready to file your return, login to ITD site n upload the json file created earlier.

Those who need to do ITR filing, in stages, could go in for offline mode. Those who have very little figures to report, online is better.

Choose whatever suits you. End result is the same.
