Is IOCL HDFC RuPay Eligible for Big Sale Discounts? Comparing with Freedom Card?

My brother received an email offer for the HDFC Freedom RuPay credit card as Lifetime Free (LTF). But when he applied, it showed a paid version with the Visa variant. We contacted HDFC customer care, but their response was vague: they said they can't help unless an application is submitted. Later, we found another email offering the IOCL HDFC RuPay credit card as LTF. He applied for that one, and it clearly showed both joining and annual fees waived.

His main purpose for getting a card is to avail discounts during online sales. So now we're wondering : does the IOCL HDFC card qualify for those 'core' HDFC card sale discounts? Or should he wait until he gets a confirmed LTF offer for the Freedom card?

Can you share the email IOCL HDFC card is Life Time Free

Sorry I was fooled by HDFC. They sent me this email. In notification I saw just "Life Time Free" as it was the first word of the email. But then after applying I saw that it's conditional LTF ( Min Spend 50k). How can HDFC do this?

It is not Life Time Free.

Apply and send an email to HDFC CC team and get a confirmation from that it is Life Time Free without annual spends.

If not get LTF, don't activate the card.
