iPad at 18k. Should I keep it?

Congrats The main downside will be you will only get few years use out of it. Ipad unlike android tablets is completely useless once the software support is stopped by apple, speaking from personal experience. Apple will purposely block installation of any software etc on older ipad even though the device is capable of running for more years as they want to force you to purchase a new one

Thanks man. It's a big downside. I was planning to use it for at least 4-5 years. But now it seems android tablet is better for me in the long term.

Hello experienced TFians,

Today, I came across what seemed like a loot deal on Amazon:

2021 Apple 10.2-inch iPad (9th Gen, Wi-Fi, 256GB, Silver) was listed for just ₹18,999. I tried to grab it immediately, but it went out of stock. After refreshing the app repeatedly for about 30 minutes, it came back in stock — and I finally managed to place the order.

However, when I checked my order details, I realized that instead of the 256GB Wi-Fi variant, I had actually purchased the 64GB Wi-Fi + Cellular variant.

I'm completely new to Apple and iOS. My original plan was to buy a tablet under ₹15,000, so spending ₹18,999 is already a stretch for me.

So, my question is:
Is it worth keeping the 64GB iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular) at this price (~₹19,000)?
I have no idea if this is a good deal or not.

Hmm nope it 2025 bro, android tabs is much better. I have tons of experienced had some 10 tablet I had purchased from Apple to Samsung, Apple used to dominate not anymore get a good android tablet don't keep a tight budget for 4 to 5 yr of usage none of 20k tablet would make it to with good performance they are some 25k tablet try to get those or Samsung fe tablet then not 90hz either.

During open box delivery do check if there is original apple seal (with green arrow) present or not (on both side). Saw several videos on YouTube where there was seal only on one side and on other side there is silver colour seal. Apple don't use any silver colour seal.

In this fear I always prefer croma to buy apple products.
Good to know!

I read the post and comments start to end.

In 2025, Android phones and tablets are at par with Apple. People choose Apple only because they want Apple.

With that assumption in place, you can keep it if you want an iPad and wish to enter Apple ecosystem. The OS support shouldn't go away for 4-5 years, and then you can give it up for exchange.

If you're okay with Android + Windows ecosystem, get the FE tablet at 20k. Great value for money.

My experience with Apple - I love Macs, and I've used them over 10 years now. 4 years ago I got the iPad mini 6, that died on me randomly last year. Apple gave no support.
I bought 16 Pro on launch from USA, and have been using it sinvce. I see not much of a difference in my usage compared to Android.
Apple does make it easy to flaunt, take good pictures and have a seamless experience with Mac + Airpods.

But I'd recommend you to stick with what works for you - Android + piracy is such a sweet spot.

That last line though 😍

why dont you take delivery and sell it off to some apple fans...and repurpose that money for the right product if you are not a fanboy or not into buying things to flaunt

I have also done this a few times and dont budge on your rate...it might take time but you will get almost similar to online price after the sale as there are a lot of foolish people who will buy it at your price just because they want to buy that apple product to show off

True that. I was looking for a used tab before getting s9fe and saw lots of ipads on sale, Old and ridiculously priced, and people still buy them!

Difficult to resell. Apple fans would rather spend 5k more and get a new one.

I don't mean to say it cannot work, but not worth the hassle to buy and resell this iPad since many new ones are available. Not worth the stress for a potential 1-2k and weeks of hassle.

For instance, I remember this iPad was available for 22-23k and I bought it for a friend about 2 years ago. So, the current price is somewhat justified.

Check again your friend's variant would be just wifi only not wifi+lte

I agree, I meant that it is the same for 2nd hand market. WiFi + LTE has a tiny market/user base.

Apple Watch is valued very high with LTE, iPads not so much.

Not worth the risk to buy and sell later, hoping to get a higher value.
