Insurance premium using Amazon pay balance

Insurance premium using credit card on Amazon has convenience fee.

But can anyone confirm if we load Amazon pay balance to required premium amount, would it still charge any convience fee?

I can get Apay balance using amex cards + smartbuy.

Want to be sure before committing to load large sum.

There is no restriction as such. I have paid an insurance premium of 1.10 lacs last week using Amazon Pay balance.

Minimum KYC. KYC only makes a difference if you intend to add money to your amazon wallet (through bank or card), for Amazon Pay vouchers it does not matter.

One can pay more than 1L of your insurance payment using Amazon Pay Balance. I had a HDFC Life insurance of Rs 102250 to be paid by Mar 30th, I started loading my amazon pay balance from Jan 2025 by buying Amazon Pay gift cards from HDFC Smart Buy using my Infinia CC, had an addon cards for my wife so could buy using her CC as well. I also used my Axis Atlas CC to buy Amazon pay gift cards from gift edge portal, got 2EM for very Rs 100. Was able to load up Rs102300 and I paid my insurance payment from Amazon using their payment balance option.

Is there any limits of using Amazon Pay balance on third party website?
I have a Lombard Mediclaim renewal upcoming, will prefer to do it on lombards website, as I can check and customise. APay wallet option is there AFAIR.

I paid in march. In icici lombard site, I renewed and simply got the apay in wallet section. I have been doing this for quite a few years and it should still be there.

Amazon has brought a new restriction where we can only pay using Amazon for insurance if it is less than 50k. I saw a screenshot of this posted in some thread and i had to pay 59k, so i paid 20k using payment link from tataaia and the rest i was able to pay via Amazon pay balance

Not sure. I have used Amazon pay directly in app. I don’t think insurance site has control over this.

Best way to pay your insurance premium is to have it paid on thier site using amazon pay as payment method. many of my known have paid upto 1lac premium using this method with no issues at all

ICICI Lombard, HDFC i have used and have an option to pay via amazon pay. Tata is building its own superapp Tata Neu so will not promote Amazon pay for sure.

Yes, the balance is more that the premium amount. Interestingly, a few day back when the balance was less, I just checked the payment options available and i could see amazon pay option with a message that the balance is less than the insurance amount. But, now that has disappeared.

HDFC life doesn't have amazon pay as a payment option and yes, as @GG21 mentioned, tata neu does not support amazon pay as a payment method and neither do airtel app.

Guess, will have to take the hit of convenience fee and pay through amex plat travel directly to hit the milestone

2 things afaik, Correct me if I am wrong.

1. HDFC Life does have amazon pay option and someone in this forum said it's hidden someone under some option. If you give me payment link may be I can check..

2. No conv fee if paid directly at payzapp. You can use any card u like afaik.
