Infinia Infinia points for school fees

amok

TF Buzz
I used my Infinia card to pay school fees of Rs 53625 (Rs 53000 + Rs 625 as transaction fees). In doing so, i recived 1785 as reward points. As this was the first time I was using a CC to pay school fees, I wanted to check/ validate if the extra 625rs are worth the 1785 points or not. Thanks!

Good option, 50 days credit and reward points.

W.E.F 1st Aug 2024, Infinia has started charging additional 1% transaction charges (over and above the 1% payment portal transaction charges) on education fee transactions. In total ~1k was charged for a fee payment of ~50k and got reward points of ~1.7k. Is it still worth paying the fees using the Infinia credit card or is there any better alternative?

depends on the other cards you hold and your plan to use the reward points. Still, it is better than nothing. For ex. if Amex is accepted, you may use it to complete your 4L expenses milestone on Amex Plat Travel. IDFC Vistara can also be used for milestones. If i am not wrong, Atlas also includes this for reward payments as well as milestones.

This is applicable if you use 3rd party platforms. If you directly pay on school website then it won't charge extra 1%

I made a payment of 72000 odd on SBI Unipay . Reward points were credited but then debited again . Transaction fees of 720 were also charged . Is this the same for everyone? Please confirm .

SBI Unipay is considered as 3rd party platform. Hence 1% extra charge and no reward points. Pay from school portal login directly

i paid school fee using Infinia and get 3.3% rewards using ATOM payment Gateway
Net gain = 3.3%-1%(gateway charge)+1% (Unipay HDFC platinum DC payment mode) = 3.3%
Does ATOM gateway not come under 3rd party hence reward points and 1% charges for education payments will be applicable right ? Was this paid from school website ?

It is not school website, it is NeverSkip site managed by school only. ATOM is payment aggregator, charging 1%.
I already received 3.3% rewards from Infinia on latest transaction and was getting it from last 2-3 years

can someone confirm whether we get reward points if we pay using Infinia on SBI collect site? need to pay fees of 1.10 lakh next week. and also whether there will be 1% charge levied by HDFC for payment through SBI collect. thanks in advance.
