ICICI Sapphiro Visa/MC to Rupay Conversion is Active Now

Hi everyone, I contacted ICICI customer care and itseems Saphhiro Visa/MC to Rupay conversion is active now. But they are saying that they will cancel existing card/s. I have asked to provide it as an additional LTF card. Lets see. SS attached.


If they do not agree for additional, would it make sense converting and cancelling existing variants?

Update 1: They rejected to provide additional Rupay variant.
"We regret to inform you that as per the bank policy we are unable to provide multiple variants as lifetime free or chargeable."

Update 2: Customer Care informed that Sapphiro Rupay is being issued in Platinum Variant.

Update 3: @Abhishek012 confirmed Sapphiro Rupay is being issued in Select Variant.

But does it matter RuPay Platinum or Select if true RuPay Select benefits aren't given on Sapphiro like OTT, Spa etc?

@Abhishek012 @Ram1 ICICI Rupay Select is not available on Rupay website under Select card dropdown. Attaching SS. Guess need to wait more to avail OTT and other benefits. Till then, no additional benefit of Rupay variant[Except UPI payment].

iob rupay select cc ka charges and all kya hai? and is it easy to get? usme sab benefits rahega kya rupay select ka?

Card network se card upgrade ka koi lena dena nahi hai.

par hai bank walo ko jada chul machti hai agar RuPay network me card ha toh unhe visa/mastercard me upgrade offer dene ki.

Baki benefit is same for all card network.

RuPay reserv se marquee jana jada easy hai kyunki bank wale jada mastercard/Visa issue karne pe tule hue rahete hai.

Baki aise card network ka koi lena dena nahi hota hai card upgrade/downgrade se.

I recently got to know about the Alumni offer and applied for the Mastercard + Amex variant. Later saw the option to apply for the RuPay version in the iMobile app, figured why not as they are all LTF anyways.

The application process was smooth. I have an account with ICICI and I just had to send them my degree certificate. The application was approved in 3 days, cards showed up on iMobile a few hours after the approval. Applied for the RuPay card a week later, approved in less than an hour.

I know the card is basically useless apart from the BMS BOGO (not a frequent user, but nice to have) and ICICI card offers, but this was the easiest (and basically guaranteed) option to get an unsecured card in my case. The RuPay card will replace the secured SuperCard card for UPI transactions.
