Hsbc live+ card 50% annual fee waive off criteria

Hi guys,
I understand that the annual fee would be waived off if we cross 2L annual spends. But, is there any other criteria like 50% fee waiver off in case we cross 1.5L or more something like that? Also, can we negotiate with the bank on the annual fee based on our spends? Did any successfully managed to get the fee waiver off?

Please share your stories with this card.

Thanks

i believe its not that easy to return high valued products these days with more strict rules
Agree, but there is always an option to cancel the order until not delivered 😛 😛 You can buy an iPhone for above 1.5 lakhs and then cancel it just before delivery. People are smart enough now a days to find loopholes if they want to 🙂

yeah that's option but mostly they are doing 1 day deliveries

This may appear weird but I think it makes sense considering bank avoiding all the loopholes of people getting fee waiver by just making spends in last month of annual cycle and then get them refunded/reverse by cancelling orders/returns on ECom sites in new annual cycle.

One month statement period for feel reversal gives bank time to consider those refunds getting settled and final spends calculation.

Just my opinion, in actual the reason could be different.
It makes sense for bank to wait 1 month to reverse charges so to avoid such practices

but banks are already smart enough. In case of refunds, they can charge again, right? they even revert the cashback/points which we have got for refunds.
Reverting cashback/ points is another thing and charging annual fee is different thing. It would make sense for them to just wait for 1 month and then reverse the annual charges

they used to do the same with reward points/cb as well earlier. But after lot of pressure from customers, they started crediting the cb after the statement itself.

How do HSBC deliver the Statement? I received an email stating my statement is ready but it did not include any statement or any other info, The App is throwing an error when trying to view the statement! Where do we get the statement from?

You will receive the statement seperately. It can take upto 24 hrs after receiving the statement ready email.

Unfortunately my spent didn't cross 2L , it was 199400rs , yeah just 600rs I missed .
So any one reversed their charges without meet annual fee waiver criteria?
yes. Please ask the HSBC customer care that you have almost reached the annual fee waiver criteria and you were short of 600 only. As as an exception please provide annual fee waiver for the previous year.

I spent more than 2L last year and still got the annual fee charged on my bill. Customer care says if i’ve spent more than 2L the fee will be reversed on next bill. To be honest that’s not a good way to waive fees.

Is that how HSBC waiver works for all?

hsbc, sbi do that..

fun fact..
SC charges fee this month + gst next month and after 60 days based on spends reverse both fee + gst.. thats 4 months.

One trick(if annual spends did not exceed 2lacs) I did is close the card just before renewal fee is charged, then wait for a week or so and apply new card so you get welcome voucher for 1k, in net you pay only GST. This trick worked for me and I got new card and starting using it this year
