HSBC Enters the Game – Accelerated Rewards Travel Portal Now Live!

I highly doubt this. A quick comparison between HSBC travel portal and Skyscanner shows a difference of 700+ for a domestic log between del-hyd.
They'll be loosing money on this like crazy.

In high end hotels/international flights the difference could be even bigger
Agreed. I don't think giving the difference as credits will work, it would be a complete mess to even verify customer claims. I mean, the screenshots can be tampered with to show lower prices. And there is no genuine authoritative source to verify historical prices. It will either be a poor CX or the bank will burn a lot of money.

HSBC will likely set some T&C on this or completely remove it.

Skyscanner typically shows a post discount coupon price on each of the platforms. In most price matching schemes, the comparison is with pre-discount coupon price (listed price).

I have HSBC Premier and Axis Atlas. Axis Atlas I only use for Hotels & Flights. Should I consider switch to Travel one? Or continue with Atlas?

HSBC travelone gives reward points for every INR100 spent in foreign currency.
Also the terms state -
You earn no reward points on spending in the following categories: bail and bond payments (9223), education and government (9399, 8299, 8220, 8211, 8241, 8244, 8249, 9222, 9402, 9211, 9405), e-wallets (6540), financial institutions (6010-6012), fuel (5541, 5983, 5172, 5542, 5552), insurance (6300, 5960), jewellery (5944, 5094), money transfers (4829), non-financial institutions (6051), real estate agent and managers (6513), tax payments (9311), utilities (4900).

But what if its an education MCC payment in foreign currency? Or for that matter any of the above excluded categories but if foreign currency?
Will we earn points?

Finally, I feel vindicated! I have been holding Infinia and HSBC Premier for about 2.5 years now, and many people questioned the HSBC Premier choice. But I always believed in its potential, and today I can be happy.

You need to maintain the same. They are very transparent about this on their website.
Alternatively, you need to maintain some quarterly AMB which is on the higher side.

If you don't maintain it, they might flag and downgrade your status after sometime. CC can be continued at annual fee of 20K + GST once you lose the status.

will they charge this fee in the first year or from the 2nd year onwards?
