HSBC Debit card 5% cashback linked with salary Account

Hi Team, I have HSBC debit card linked with salary account. It is giving 5% cashback. Can anyone tell how and where to spend. Earlier Credit card bill payment on airtel was working fine.

Yes I m getting option to pay via debit card on magic pin. Hence checking before completing the transaction

Ok, then u might be special because apay voucher purchase on magic pin is not eligible through debit card and only UPI for majority*. Anyway, you'll get 5%. with their grocery mcc which they provide when using cashfree gateway.

If ur going for high purchase, make a sample test transaction (or disable txn limit and make a failed transaction), chat with agent using mobile app, get the mcc (mcc shouldn't be related to above categories #2). Then proceed for higher amount.

U can buy Apay voucher from HSBC gyftr as well. i tried long back for 1000 and i got 50. So Apay voucher is not a issue

Yes, the salary should be credited in the same month. For example, if you open your salary account in May and receive your May salary in HSBC, then the spending done in May will be eligible for cashback.

Previously, there was no limit, so people were earning up to ₹1 lakh in cashback per month even if their salary was only ₹50,000. That's the main reason they restricted it to 2x your salary
